Winter Wedding Hairstyles 2009

Fall Wedding Hairstyles, Wedding Hairstyles

Winter is a beautiful time to get married, but it presents some hardships as what to do with your hair to make sure that you look elegant on this special day. The climate you live in partially determines just how your hair is going to look when you get married. Unfortunately, you can’t always stay one step ahead of the weather, so why not prepare for it by using a hairstyle that works best for your texture of hair? Rain or shine, wet or dry, your hair will be ready to look its best underneath your veil. Here is a helpful guide for making sure that you have the best hair possible for your winter wedding:

Soft and Feminine. If you have long, full textured hair and want to wear it down for your winter wedding, no problem. Do pin it back, though, for a controlled look. The best way to pin back your hair so that it looks controlled, but natural, is begin with clean hair and then use hot curlers to curl your hair. When you curl your hair with the curlers, just place these in various positions throughout your hair to achieve the natural look. (Placing the curlers in perfect rows often achieves the bubble look. You want to avoid this.) When you unroll your hair, let the heat escape to allow the curls to set. You might want to even lightly mist your hair with a hairspray that combs out.

Sebastian Shaper Plus is good for this process because it does not add much weight to your hair (and you already have enough). After the spray has dried onto your hair, use a comb/brush (not an old-fashioned bristle brush) to back comb your hair. As the curls begin to fall into a natural-look, then use your brush/comb to manipulate the hair strands to where you want them and then spray to set the style. After the spray dries on top, then flip your head downward and spray underneath for extra body/hold. Don’t forget to check for hair strand placement once you turn your head back over and also spray one last time. This hairstyle will help your hair suffer the veil that you wear on top of it, time as it wears on, and even the changing weather. Make sure that you do not comb through your hair again. Instead, you a hair pick to freshen your look and then spray again.

Sleek and Chic. If you have long, thin hair, then solidify your hairstyle for your wedding. The last thing you need is for your hair to downplay your expensive, dream dress. So, don’t bother suffering with trying to achieve a hairstyle that your hair will not hold for any length of time. Just slick it back and enjoy the chic look that you will have. Sleeking back your hair does have a few secrets, though. One of these secrets is to make sure that you swoop your hair upward and backward to achieve the sleek look. You don’t want to pile your hair on top of your head because this will simply round out your face, adding pounds to your look. Pulling your hair straight back will produce a matronly look.

You want to sleek your hair back at an angle, toward the back top of your head. Feel the back of your head, right now. Do you feel how the back of your head curves out? Aim just above this as you swoop your hair up and back. Forget the expensive hair fasteners. Secure your hair with large Bobbie Pins (from the dollar store) that blend in with the color of your hair. You can use a gel to help with the hold. Be warned, though, this will cause your hair to cling to your head, reducing the natural look that you desire to achieve. It will also cause your hair to look a darker color.

Tall and Tiered. Whether you have short, textured hair or long, textured hair, you can add some attitude to your wedding day by going tall and tiered. This hairstyle requires teasing your hair, though, so make sure that you’re up to it. Teasing is simply sectioning of your hair and running a metal comb in the opposite direction that your hair grows. It’s not painful, but it’s time consuming. You can do a lot with teased hair. You can add height or fullness to camouflage height and weight issues. You can achieve a beautiful back combed pony tail that will last for days. If this is your first time to tease your hair, I would recommend going to a beauty salon to get it done. Whether you decide on a back combed pony tail or French Twist, make sure you add a modern touch to it by having the stylist flat iron a portion in the front and swoop it to the side. This will add some elegance to your hairstyle.

Short and Straight. If you like short, no fuss hairstyles, this will work well for your winter wedding. Even so, this is not the day to simply run a brush and a hair dryer through your hair and hope for the best. Go to a salon and let them know that you want to achieve your usual, no-fuss look, but they will need to make some fuss about it if you actually intend for your hair to look good through the entire wedding celebration. A professional hairstylist knows how to soften up even the most business-like looks, so let this happen. After you get your hair styled, feel confident that it will last. Still, talk with your stylist and find out what to do if it gets wet from the weather. The short and straight hairstyle is not a good hairstyle for textured hair, so choose something different if you do have textured hair because this hairstyle won’t likely last through the night.
