Shopping Guide for Short Wedding Veils

Edging, Lace Wedding Veils, Wedding Veils

Most E-tailers carry the same style and same sizes of wedding veils. Short wedding veils very seldom have lace on them and are usually made of Bridal Illusion, a very soft tulle. Choosing a short wedding veil style and design depends on your likes and dislikes, and the style of your gown. Usually when you purchase your gown at a wedding dress shop, they have a selection of veils to choose from.

Different cuts for the short veil include straight, straight rounded at the bottom, standard, oval gathered, scallop, petal, angel, classic gathered, and gathered. The way they are cut decides on how they fall across your shoulders. The standard length for short veils is 18 inches. You also have the choices to choose from on how many layers. Most offer single, double, or triple layered veils.

Another option that you will need to make is the width of the veil. Most veils are either 72 inches or 108 inches. If you are looking for a more stream-lined slim veil, you would want to choose the 72 inch cut. For a fuller, more thicker veil, you would want to choose the 108 inch veil.

There are many ways to have the edges of the veils done. You can leave the edging plain cut, with no seam, or you can choose pencil serged, which gives it a thin roll of a hem, that has been sewn over the edges. Other choices include different widths and styles of ribbon, such as rat tail, a very thin strip of ribbon, organza or satin, in various widths from 1/8 inch wide to 1 1/2 inch wide.

When shopping for a veil on line, I would suggest one of these E-tailers. The first suggestion is www.weddingveil.com. This site is easy to use, and has many styles and cuts to choose from. The cuts and styles are standard, and you can find prices ranging from as little as $28 for a single layered veil with 108 inch width plain edged veil, to $82 for a triple layered pencil serged veil with a 108 inch width. The shipping costs on these veils are $6.95, and takes about 8 to 13 days. They also have different accents you can add to your veil and have it custom made.

The next suggestion is www.veilshop.com. This shop also features veils you can design yourself, or you can choose from veils that are ready to go. The shortest veil that this company offers is just below the shoulder. These veils run between $41 for a single layer 24 inch length, 72 inch width veil with pencil edging. The more expensive of their short veils is the 24 inch length, 72 width, double layer veil with pencil edging costing $52. Any additional accents make their veils custom, and also raises the cost of the veil. Shipping charges are determined at the time of check out, with an account required. They do ship veils that are ready to order within two days.

The next suggestion is at www.everafterbridalveils.com. This site is fairly standard when it comes to cuts and styles and edging. This site does offer two designers of veils, Illusion Bridal Veils and AA Bridal Designer Veils. You can also custom make your veil. One big fall back on this site is that you can not just choose to look at the short veils only, you will need to search each designer separately and search the pages to find short veils. For Illusion Bridal, the shortest veil appears to be the 25 inch bubble veil with a 72 inch width, single layered plain edging. This veil cost is at $43. A different style of veil offered from Illusion Bridal is the 18 inch visor veil with pearl accents. This veil resembles those seen worn by women at funerals, except it is white. This style of veil has a price of $55, and is the only short veil to be found in this site. AA Bridal Veils does not carry any short veils, the shortest being at elbow length.

Another suggestion is at www.affordableweddingveils.com. This shop also features standard short veils. Going directly to the link for cheap veils, you will find a wide selection of short veils with plain cut edges. The only short veil, found was a plain cut edge single layered veil for $22. A $6 flat rate is charged for all veil orders unless the total is over $100, then the shipping is free.

The last suggestion is for www.visionveils.com. This site features some veils on clearance, if they are not sold out. This site is fairly easy to use, and you can start by clicking the edging you wish to have. A single tier veil with a 72 inch width shoulder length of 20 inches, can be bought for as little as $17. If you want more to your veil, you can purchase one with a pearl edge, two tier veil with 108 inch width for only $41, or if you are looking for more bling, you can purchase a shoulder length, two tiered, 108 inch width veil with rhinestone edging for just $112. Shipping charges on this site depends on where and how fast you want it. You can have a veil shipped to you for only $6. International shipping costs are $25.

Of the five sites listed, I personally would choose either the first site or the last site for a short veil, just by having a variety of options open to me.
