Why a Coach Wallet is Worth the Cost: It’s More Than Just Materialism

I recently received a gift that has caught the attention of friends, male and female alike. When I pull out my wallet, everyone comments on how nice it looks, and how much they like it. They notice that it’s coach, and at first it seems to be a good thing. Then, occasionally after, they ask how much it cost. Some people know how much things like this cost, but those who don’t seem floored by the fact that a guy’s wallet would cost around $150, and they are even more surprised by the fact that someone would pay that much. I’m not here to tell you that purchasing or being excited about something like this isn’t materialistic; it is to an extent. When you can buy something for 20 bucks and even buy a nice one for $50, it seems totally materialistically driven. What I am going to point out, however, are the multiple reasons why purchasing something like this is worth it.

One thing that people tend to forget when downplaying an expensive item is quality. It’s true that often you pay more for a brand name. It is also safe to say that you get what you pay for; the less you pay for an item, the lower the quality. The Coach wallet that I have has already taken a massive beating, but you wouldn’t be able to tell. Any wallet that I’ve had has lasted for a decent amount of time, but always looked worn and weathered soon after first use. The quality of the leather that is used for the Coach wallet is strong; it already has durability, and that is important, considering how important a wallet is. Holding cash, managing to not be deformed by change and coins, and holding multiple cards could easily warp the wallet. The Coach wallet, however, has stood up to these things far better than any other wallet that I’ve had.

Moving away from function, and into fashion, is where Coach shines once more. The design of the wallet is classic and clean, but is different from most men’s wallets that are seen. Most wallets for men are a solid color, and are made out of one singular material. The wallet that I own is one solid color: black. The difference, however, is two-fold; the outside of the wallet is made out of both cloth and leather. A strip of leather goes across the entire wallet, going through the pattern that is on the cloth. The cloth is black on black, so it is subtle, but has more of a tone of design than most 40 dollar wallets that I have seen.

I can’t deny the fact that part of owning a Coach Wallet is the fact that you have something that nice. As dumb as it may sound, it’s nice to see something that nice every time you have to pay for something. The design, however, is something that you don’t quite find in other wallets. The quality that you find in a Coach wallet makes the money worth it. Sure, it may be somewhat materialistic, but there’s more to owning an expensive wallet than just the money and the materialism. If something like this makes you that much happier, go for it.
