Where Would ’30 Rock’ Characters Be in 10 Years?

After seven seasons, “30 Rock,” NBC’s quirky show about the staff of a comedy series, has ended. The final show sewed up the series with an appropriately ridiculous bow. But for some fans, it’s difficult to imagine life without Liz Lemon and the staff of “TGS.” Just in case the network wants to get a jump on planning a future reunion show, here’s where those characters might be in ten years.

Liz Lemon (Tina Fey)

Now the mom of teenagers, Liz has devoted herself to raising the boy and girl she adopted at the end of the series. While the daughter, who reminds her of best friend Jenna Maroney, is determined to gain entrance into a performing arts college, the son, who reminds Liz of “TGS” star Tracy Jordan, is waffling between outrageous career goals: ranging from lion taming to becoming a competition eater.

Liz fields a call from former “TGS” head writer, Pete Hornberger, asking her to revive the series on the now-revamped network. Reluctantly, she puts away her yoga pants and pastel hoodies and breaks out her office casual duds, along with her signature horn-rimmed glasses.

Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer)

Ten years of being the network head honcho have brought few changes to NBC’s former head page, Kenneth Parcell. He’s nursed the network back to health with programming designed to elevate and instruct the viewer. Much to the chagrin of mentor and former network head Jack Donaghy, his happy-go-lucky shows — like a reality show about champion knitters — have become highly popular. But Kenneth catches a glimpse of himself faking a laugh during a business meeting and begins to fear that he’s losing his soul. He asks Jack to take over temporarily while he goes on a sabbatical to get more grounded.

Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin)

Ironically, while Mr. Nice Guy, Kenneth Parcell, has been growing more accustomed to the corporate world, Jack has spent a decade trying to become a better person. Following up on insights he gained when his mother died, he’s followed his bliss, devoting himself to charity work and raising his young daughter, now in middle school. Upon receiving Kenneth’s request, he suits up for the job, determined that this time, he’ll remember to show a little kindness to his fellow network employees. But the suit just feels so… right.

Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski)

Following an ill-fated movie with “TGS” co-star Tracy, Jenna launched an off-off-Broadway show with cross-dressing husband, Paul L’Astname (Will Forte). The production, “Jenna and Jenna,” has garnered a certain hipster cache, with the audience filling up with people who like to do “call-outs.” Liz’s first job, in convincing Jenna to return for a show reboot, is to explain that her audience is actually laughing at her, not with her.

Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan)

In the years since “TGS” ended, Tracy has turned to movies. By taking any job that’s offered, he’s become the king of low-budget comedies. After stumbling into a serious role he was certain was a comic part, he’s even received an Oscar nomination. Of course, winning him back to the show is easy, because of his policy of saying yes to everything. However, his wife causes trouble by insisting the network provide a part for their 20-something son, George Foreman, who’s now in medical school and has no interest in acting.
