Best Products, Body Butters, Face Cleanser, Skin Toner

Every day, many women go to great lengths for the sake of beauty. Check any woman’s bathroom and there’s likely to be no shortage of hair products, makeup, lotions and potions. Until recently, getting “prettied up” was seen as a woman’s thing, but with the metrosexual movement over the last decade, many men are now becoming more comfortable with a little primping.

In addition to hair gel and cologne, there are a plethora of beauty products which are marketed towards men including body butters, bath salts, and even makeup!

Companies such as 4VOO (pronounced “forvous”) sells a men’s makeup line, which is guaranteed to help any man look his best. Products include a shine reducing, translucent powder, skin toner, lip serum, brow gel, and eyeliner among other things. 4VOO products are not tested on animals and there are retail stores in Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington.

For the eco-conscious, man, KenMen offers a line of organic skin care and spa treatments for men. Ingredients in KenMen products come from Fair Trade suppliers and are organically grown. The product line includes an antioxidant face cleanser, revitalizing eye gel, ant-stress face mask, and organic shea butter balms for skin chaffing, sore muscles and athlete’s foot.

Mënaji touts itself as “skincare for the confident man” with a variety of skin and body products. Mënaji’s Anti Aging Eraser “rejuvenates wrinkles and damaged skin” and its Lip Balm Agent is deemed “vitamins for your lips. One of the best products is the anti-shine powder. This vitamin C and E enriched powder is formulated with SPF 15 and comes in four shades, light, medium, bronze, and dark. This type of power is specially made for the higher oil production in men’s skin and is often used by actors to reduce facial shine when on camera.

Companies like The Body Shop have offered a men’s line for years, including shaving, bath and skin care products, but now the Tea Tree product line is being marketed towards men as a unisex alternative, even though in the beginning the product line was geared towards women.

Cosmetic companies are expanding their scope as men become more comfortable with beauty rituals. Maybe one day, men will be able to pick a pressed power compact for $10.00 at the drugstore just like women-maybe.
