What Really Happens in the Year 2012

Planet X

Barack Obama might be reelected. The planets will align themselves in ways not seen in centuries causing unseen before weather anomalies and natural disasters. Centuries old calendars run out of time. Some sects of the Christian religion say the ‘Great Tribulation’ will finally come to fruition. Future seers predict global destruction. The South Pole becomes the North Pole. The predicted mammoth cataclysm will wreak havoc in the otherwise stable universe. Sarah Palin runs for President, but Hilary Clinton gets elected.

Predictions of the year 2012 have been made for centuries by everyone from the noted future-seer Nostradamus to the seer of the future Jimmy Swaggart. Famed psychic and astrologer Jean Dixon predicted that the end of world War Three would happen in the year 2012. She also said it would start in the year 2006. Maybe it’s the alignment of the planets that threw her prediction off a tad.

The orators of planets

Obama, who is proving to be one of the greatest orators since good old Abe Lincoln, may very well get reelected in 2012. Both men are noted prolific speech writers and strong orators with a sense of principles in their idiom. Both graduated as lawyers and practiced law in Illinois. Obama quotes Lincoln often and I’m sure had Lincoln known Obama, he would have returned the compliment.

While it is true that the planets will align themselves in a pattern not seen before in relation to the stars, it is simply because the galaxy we are in is spinning through space which we’ve never been in before. Some claim that when the alignment of the planets happens, increased gravity will manifest natural disasters on an untold scale.

NASA, by contrast, takes a minor stand that increased solar activity may disrupt communications. That’s it. No masses crashing into one another or no prolific speech-writers. Truth be known, NASA really doesn’t seem to be worried about increased gravity or a fabled Sumerian planet Nibiru. Now called ‘Planet X’, this planet was first seen by astronomers in the early 1980’s in the outermost reaches of the Solar System. It has since been tracked by infrared observatories, and has been seen hiding in the Kuiper Belt. Planet X supposedly is now speeding right smack at us and will enter the inner galaxy in the year 2012. The only person really worried about an increase in gravity in 2012 is the singer Cher, and for obvious reasons.

The Mayan conspiracy

One cold truth is that the Mayan calendar does indeed stop in the year 2012. Did they know something that we don’t? Actually, yes – they did.

The Mayans tracked cycles, within other cycles – that were inside of deeper cycles (within even deeper cycles) of space-time. The Mayan calendar acted as something of a “harmonic calibrator” of sorts. It linked and coordinated the earthly, lunar, solar, and galactic seasons in a surprisingly simple and graceful manner. Enter the Winter Solstice of 12/21/2012, and by the way hold on to your hats because this gets deeper than Sarah Palin’s explanation at an ethics hearing.

On December 21, 2012 a supposed rare astronomical and Mayan mega-mythical event will occur. The Milky Way extends in a more-or-less north-south direction in the night sky. A mythical plane – called the plane of ecliptic, is the relative track of the Sun, the Moon, the planets and the stars which appear to travel in the sky, from east to west.

The resulting “cosmic cross” formed by the intersecting Milky Way and plane of the ecliptic was called the Sacred Tree. The trunk of the tree, the Axis Mundi, is the Milky Way, and the main branch intersecting the tree is the plane of the ecliptic.

In myth, at the sunrise on December 21, 2012, the Sun (our Father) rises up to be bounded by the center of the Sacred Tree; the World Tree; and the Tree of Life.

This exceptionally uncommon astronomical event which was foretold in the Mayan creation story of the Hero Twins; and empirically calculated by them – will happen in 2012. The Sun has not conjoined with the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic in over 25 centuries.

Nostradamus and cults

For years now as the date of destruction draws nigh, future-seers have predicted both disaster and anticlimactic apocalypse. Nostradamus himself predicts that what has been interpreted as an asteroid will hit the planet in that year. The Hindu religion, with a belief system based on destruction and rebirth, believes a cycle of destruction will occur in 2012 – ironically in December of 2012. Those who believe in Bible codes say they have found evidence that a Holocaust will happen again in that same year. Cults whose members are stockpiling supplies are springing up worldwide as the date creeps closer and closer.

Scientists have found large holes in the magnetic fields of the Earth, which they say will cause a Polar shift with a mean date of 2012. The holes lay over the south Atlantic and the Arctic regions. The core of our planet seems to undergoing change. As the planet spins, the molten iron liquid inside the core ‘sloshes’ to one side. After centuries upon centuries or rotation, the core moves as a whole. This repositioning will cause a change in the magnetic field that protects the planet. Soon, compasses will literally point the opposite way – thus the south becomes the north, and vice-versa.

While the truth remains that Obama may be reelected, and the planets and stars may indeed be in an alignment not seen in centuries – the only thing we know for sure is that the singer Cher hopes the earth’s gravity doesn’t increase.
