WEN Tea Tree Bath, Body, & Hair Oil

Ethnic Hair, Hair Oil

I’ve been using WEN’s Fig Cleansing Conditioner by Chaz Dean for a couple of months. It cleanses my hair without shampoo and it has made my hair shiny, moisturized, and healthy.

I was really wowed with my results the first month that I used the Cleansing Conditioner but after awhile I realized that I my hair needed more moisture than it was providing. Plus the WEN Fig Cleansing Conditioner did nothing to relieve my dandruff so I decided to try another product by WEN. I chose their Tea Tree Oil, which also contains jojoba and other oils, which I’d read could help prevent dandruff and really moisturize my hair.

When the WEN Tea Tree Oil arrived at my house, my hair was already clean so I decided to use it as a scalp treatment first. When I opened up the bottle the smell of the oil was very apparent, it was strong and woodsy, but after I began applying drops of the oil to my scalp the smell became overwhelming. It smelled like a mixture of Pine-Sol and Vick’s Vapor Rub and it wasn’t a pleasant experience for me at all.

Now I realize now that I applied too many drops, because I’ve had the Wen Tea Tree Oil for a few weeks now and I am in love with it. I massage drops (way less than I did the first time) of the Wen Tea Tree Oil into my scalp once a week, and it helps to soothe my itchy scalp for a few days. It hasn’t cleared up my dandruff but I don’t scratch my head as often which is a good thing.

I’ve also used the WEN Tea Tree Oil drops to style my hair both wet and dry. The first time I used it on my wet hair I followed the directions on the Fig Cleansing Conditioner bottle, which stated that ethnic hair types should mix in a few drops of the oil with the cleansing conditioner and apply the mixture as a leave-in conditioner. This didn’t really work because I couldn’t determine how much oil my hair needed, and I applied too many drops which only weighed my hair down.

Now I just apply the cleansing conditioner as a leave-in first, and then I apply the drops to my hair seperately as needed. The WEN Tea Tree Oil makes the styling process so much easier because I don’t have to worry about frizz, dryness, or dullness. My hair is left frizz-free, shiny, silky, and moisturized. Plus it still has movement and body.

I’ve also had great results when I’ve used the Wen Tea Tree Oil on my dry hair. I’ve applied a few drops to dry strands and ends at night and they instantly feel silkier and softer because of the jojoba oils it contains, which I read are very similiar to the natural oils that our scalps produce. My hair stays that way for days and I’ve noticed that it doesn’t break off as easily as it used to.

I’ve even used the oil on my cuticles, and to clear up a persistent eczema patch that had been on my face for weeks, and it worked well for those too!

I enjoy this product so much that I will continue to buy it for as long as it’s sold because it’s left my hair, scalp, and skin in great condition. I recommend it for everyone, especially those with really dry hair or itchy scalps.

If you’re worried about the scent you needn’t be. Though the smell is really strong from the bottle the scent doesn’t linger in your hair (especially if you use a small amount of drops) and it seems to evaporate within ten or twenty minutes.
