Watching a Raiders Game at O.Co Coliseum

Raiders Connect With Fans On and Off the Field
The Raiders play at the O.co Coliseum in Oakland, California. The stadium is also known as the Oakland Coliseum and is named after its sponsor Overstock.com. In addition to the Raiders, MLB’s Oakland Athletics also call the stadium home. It is one of the only stadiums in the country that is shared by a team in the NFL and the MLB full time. Look at the O.co Coliseum seating chart for more information about available seating areas for Raiders home games.

The Raiders have played in the Coliseum since 1966. The stadium features an underground playing field that is located below sea level. From the outside only the third level of seats is visible giving the illusion of a smaller stadium to visitors.

Fans traveling to an Oakland Raiders game can use BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) area transportation. The Coliseum/Airport BART Station is directly across from the east side of the stadium over a short bridge.

Before attending a game, fans should join the My Raiders Reward program through the team’s website. By shopping through affiliate partners on the team’s site such as Best Buy and Target, fans can earn cash back towards the purchase of Raiders apparel.

Fans wanting to stay up to date on team news and stats can text “RAIDERS” to 67453 to receive text message alerts about the team. The Raiders also provide updates through a variety of social media outlets.

Anyone planning to attend a Raiders game or any game in the NFL for the 2012 season should be aware that metal detectors have been installed at all of their facilities. Fans will have their bags searched and will have to pass through for screening before entering a stadium.

During the game, favorite concession offerings inside the Coliseum include garlic fries and the teriyaki meat options. Another interesting food fact is the stadium is listed as a top choice for vegetarians. It has received rankings as one of football’s “Most Vegetarian-Friendly Venues.”

Families will enjoy visiting the “Raider Rookie Zone” near the east side of the coliseum. The area is at the North entrance behind section 234. Here kids can participate in interactive games such as field goal kick or touchdown pass. There is also an inflatable Raiders’ themed bounce house and small picnic tables that are sized for kids. During the game, fans of all ages will enjoy performances by the team’s cheerleaders, the Raiderettes.

Single game tickets are available through the team’s website and range in price from $36 up to $161. Besides regular season tickets, mini-plans are available allowing fans to buy tickets for half of the season or for three games.

Families with children under the age of 24 months can bring them to a game at no additional charge. The children must be seated on an adult’s lap.

The O.co Coliseum is a great multi-purpose venue where fans can enjoy watching the Oakland Raiders. The team helps fans connect with the Raiders outside the stadium along with providing a variety of activities at the Coliseum on game day. Visitors to the Oakland area will have a great time watching a Raiders game.
