Years and years ago, I became a fan of European soccer. I wanted to be different than all of the “cool kids” who rooted for teams such as Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool so I went a completely different route. I began cheering for Middlesbrough. If you know anything about European soccer, you know that I made a terrible, terrible mistake. Those who’ve read my previous sports articles also know that, as a Cleveland sports fan, I don’t give up on my teams. Obviously, Middlesbrough isn’t going to be on ESPN or Fox Soccer Channel anytime soon. To watch my team, I needed to find ways to watch soccer online for free.
Watch soccer online for free step #1: Download all the programs
The programs you need to watch soccer online free are somewhat different than watching football, basketball, baseball and hockey for free. In order to watch soccer online for free, you must download a handful of software programs. The programs TV Ants, Stream Torrent, TVU Player, Sopcast and VLC Media Player. This may seem like quite a bit of programs to download but the fact is there are many, many soccer leagues around the world. The most die hard soccer fans will need each of these programs to watch soccer online for free.

In other “watch sports online” articles I’ve produced, I’ve recommended going to the My P2P Forum to find links. Due to the amount of soccer matches that occur during a season, I recommend going to the “Football” (soccer) page on the Live Sports section of the My P2P website. Once you get there, a long list of matches occurring on that particular day will be listed. Click the icon that is located to the right of the match you want to watch and several links will be listed. Select one of the links and your match will begin playing in one of the many programs you downloaded, in a window on a new Web page or in Windows Media Player. Which program will open will be listed directly above the link that you click.
Watch soccer online for free step #3: Go to forum for help
Due to the large amount of soccer leagues, you may find yourself confused while attempting to watch soccer online for free. The Football Streams page on the My P2P website will allow you to discuss soccer with fans all around the world as well as ask questions about soccer streams. You may also find additional links for soccer matches occurring in the United States and around the world.
The Channel Surfing website will offer some links that will let you watch soccer online. Unfortunately, most of these streams will simply be soccer matches that are occurring on ESPN and ESPN 2. You won’t find a large amount of soccer matches on this website.
