You can volunteer to be a Docent, Garden Helper or Office and Administrative Helper. A Docent leads tours around the museum and answers questions that visitors to the museum may have. Docents are trained fully the museum staff. Docents need to lead at least one tour group a week. Garden Helpers help beautify the museum grounds. This non profit organization is devoted to helping women have access to physical, mental and spiritual well-being (mainly those affected by cancer). Volunteers can help with fundraising, advocacy, special events, clerical, and help with creating newsletters and distributing them. Furry Friends Rescue helps find homes for companion animals. They need several volunteers for several positions. You can volunteer from your own home by being a foster area to a pet until the Furry friends Rescue can find the right home for the animal. Do you have an interest in the medical field? If so, then you may want to consider volunteering at Washington Hospital. The Hospital is located at 2000 Mowry Ave. Fremont, CA 94538. There are a number of duties that you can do at Washington Hospital. A few of them are as follows: Baby Photos (take photographs of newborn infants), Patient Feeding (help feed patients who aren’t able to do it themselves), ER (help patients and families that come in), Community Health Resource Library (help patrons find answers to health questions), Receptionist, deliver flowers, work in the gift shop, give tours of the birthing center and more.
