Treating Adult Acne with Aspirin

Acne is a skin condition that not only teenagers have. Many adults have skin problems with acne and get pimples for years. Our culture feels it is important for us to hide or cover up blemishes and pimples. There is a whole aisle devoted to adult skin care and acne products because we are so obsessed with our looks. Despite whatever claims may be seen on an infomercial or read on the back of a product’s package, many adult acne products will not work as fast as they claim. However you can help prevent and fight acne on your face using aspirin and these adult skin care tips.

Why Aspirin?
Over the counter Acne removal products contain salicylic acid and or benzyl peroxide. Both of these ingredients will help to dry out pimples and blemishes; however they will also irritate and dry out the skin of one’s face. Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid and is commonly used to treat minor aches and pains. Aspirin can also be used like an anti-inflammatory agent like other acne medicines however aspirin will not dry out skin as much – nor will it cost as much.

Adult acne face and skin products can be quite expensive. Why pay twenty dollars for a face or skin product that consists of mostly water and only a two to three percent “active ingredient”? Open your medicine cabinet instead, and utilize what is already in your household to remove pimples and blemishes.

How to Use Aspirin to Remove Acne From Your Face
The first step is to make sure that the face is well washed so that there are no oils left, and the skin is clean. Then take one pill of aspirin, and crush it into a powder. Put the powder it into a spoon and slowly add drops of water to it until it becomes a thick paste. Carefully put the paste on the acne on the face. After about fifteen to twenty minutes wash the face again, then finish up with some moisturizer.

One can also employ an aspirin face mask. Just follow the above steps using several pills, and cover the whole face with the paste. Using a face mask like this can help to prevent and get rid of pimples and blemishes.

Warnings
People who are allergic to aspirin do not try this! Skin is very porous, especially on the face, and it will absorb the aspirin as if they swallowed the pill. For anyone who plans on doing this then it is important to make sure they read all of the fine print on the bottle of aspirin. If they have a condition such as asthma, heartburn, or an ulcer they should not do this.

Because aspirin will dry your skin it is important for them to put moisturizer on each time after use of this remedy. After trying this trick three times over the course of the week, and the acne or blemishes still persist, it would be wise to cease use and consult a dermatologist.

By following these acne tips one will end up with healthier looking skin on their face, resulting in a higher self confidence because do not have any pimples or blemishes.
