Top Ten Romantic and Relaxing Male Voice Songs

Joe Cocker

There’s just something about the male voice singing. We love to listen to music because of the emotions it brings out in us, and certain male voices singing particular songs make this effect much more! It is a delight to hear these songs, sung by some awesome male voices.

Here are ten male voices on ten beautiful songs…

1. Chris Isaak singing Wicked Game. This song just takes me into a trance. It is romantic, soft and beautiful. However, it is really a shame that the woman is just playing games with him, or he never would have had to write the song in the first place. Incidentally, this song also is one of the best videos ever!

2. Stone Temple Pilots’ Big Empty. Yes, I know that this is one band that had a crazy lead singer, but he had such a mellow, rich voice. The song Big Empty is so relaxing, I can listen to it anytime and feel calmer than before I tuned in my ear.

3. Pink Floyd and the song Hey You. Relaxing, enticing, romantic, endearing. It’s all there in this song. Many of Pink Floyd’s songs are relaxing, and the lead singer’s voice makes that sound come to being along with the rest of the band. Pink Floyd has more than one tune that could make this list, but I chose this one to be the most tranquil of all.

4. Lenny Kravitz’s Again. Do you melt when you listen to this song? I do. It is so heartfelt, and Lenny Kravitz puts such emotion into whatever he sings. He can rock out, but can also show us his vulnerable side in tunes like Again.

5. Swiss duo Double singing The Captain of her Heart. This song makes me feel like I’m on an oceanliner in the middle of the ocean, cold and alone, waiting for a love that isn’t coming back. The song is so sad, but so romantic and memorable.

6. Seal, singing Don’t Cry. Seal has one of the most enticing male voices I’ve ever heard. His voice rings out through the song. Don’t Cry is one of his softer tunes, but Kiss from a Rose could easily have taken its place on this list.

7. Lonestar’s Amazed. This song is about true love, and it’s totally romantic. I was lucky enough to hear this song performed live at the Maryland theatre a few years back, and to watch the lead singer captivate the audience with his heartfelt voice.

8. Nickelback’s Far Away. This song brings chills up and down my spine when I listen to it. The video is about a firefighter going off to fight another fire in the wild, perhaps in California. His wife doesn’t want him to go, but once he’s gone, and she thinks he might be in danger, she just wants him back! It shows you what you’re missing once you think it might be gone. People say that Nickelback’s lead singer is not that attractive (I happen to disagree), but his voice is pure and melodic.

9. Joe Cocker singing Maybe I’m Amazed, a song originally written by Paul McCartney. I think Joe Cocker sings it better, so he made the list instead of Paul McCartney. There is more raw emotion in Joe Cocker’s version, as with any of his songs.

10. Newcomer Chris Daughtry singing Home. In my humble opinion, Chris Daughtry should have won American Idol Season Five. I don’t agree with the decision going to Tyler Hicks, but that’s okay. Chris is enjoying tremendous success anyway! His voice is powerful, yet soft, a great combination. This is a cool song to check out!
