Top Ten Baby Shower Games

Baby Games, Baby Items, Dry Erase Board, Planning a Baby Shower

Are you planning a baby shower and just not sure of what games to plan! Every baby shower needs baby games in order to allow your guest to become involved with the festivities. Here is a list of ten different baby games that sre guaranteed to please your guest and mother to be.

Baby BINGO

This is done just like a regular BINGO game except the card is printed out with different baby items such as bottle, diapers, and blankets. This game is very useful it the amount of people attending will be large because it allows everyone the opportunity to participate. Usually a gift is given to the winner. This gift can be one that she can personally give to the expecting mother or a small trinket that the winner can take home for themselves. You can buy these cards already printed out at your local party stores or you can print them out on your own computer at home.

Baby Food Guessing Game

This is a favorite of mine and definitely a crowd pleaser. Watching people eat bananas and applesauce is fine, but I prefer to see their faces when that have tasted a nice spoonful of carrots or sweet potatoes. First the host must blindfold the contestant, who is chosen by the mother-to-be. Then they are given a spoonful of baby food, and must guess what the food is.

The Price is Right

This game is also good for larger crowds. You buy about 5 – 10 items for the baby such as bottles, teething rings, and bibs. The host must make sure she saves all receipts for these items. Each player is given a small card to write her answers on. The host then holds up the item and states “Name that Price.” The contestant closest to the actual price without going over wins, and then in return gives the item to the expecting mother since it is her party.

Baby Bottle Race

Buy five small 4 oz bottles and fill all of them up with apple juice. Once the contestants are chosen then the race begins. This game is self-explanatory, first contestant to finish the bottle wins. This is usually a big hit with the younger participants.

Baby Pictionary

This requires a Dry Erase board and markets. Prior to the party the host will write different baby items down on a piece of paper and then place them in a basket. The guest should be split up into groups and then take drawing the items and guessing. The host should supply a timer or either time the contestants so that game does not take too long

Memory Game

The host will have to plan ahead of time for this game. One can purchase the game pre made from a party store or they can design it themselves. I like to take pictures of baby items and have duplicate couples mad eof each one. You play this just as you would a typical memory game; however, the catch is the pictures are baby items.

Baby Scramble

The host can preprint this activity for the party guests ahead of time. Included ten questions to be answered by unscrambling the word such as tbleto would be bottle. All the items that must be unscrambled should be baby items so that it relates to the theme. If the host can not print them then they can be written on the Dry Erase board for all to see.

Baby Name

If the expecting mother knows the name she has picked out for the baby such as Ashleigh, then the host can hand out piece of notebooks with the babies first and last name. The point of this game is to spell as many words as possible with the letters in the child’s name leg is in Ashleigh. The host must also time this game because it could go on for forever if not.

Q- Tip / Cotton Ball Game

This game requires the host to bring a clear baby bottle filled with either Q-tips or cotton balls. As each guest arrives for the party have them guess how many are in the bottle. The closest guess to the correct number with out going over wins. Usually the winner is announced at the end of the party. This game is considered the door game so, as a hostess, I like to give the winner something also. Usually a gift card to a local store or restaurant

Photo Game

This game requires some prior preparation from the host and party guest. Decorate a huge poster board with pretty baby designs. Ask all the guest to bring a small photo of them as a baby and place the photo on the poster board. Keep his board out so that the guest can see it through out the whole party. I like t make this the last game because it gives people more time to decide. The point of the game is to match the baby picture with the adult.

Planning a baby shower can be fun and rewarding but it does not have to be stressful! As the host one should be prepared and just make sure that everyone including the mother-to-be are having fun!
