Review of Kushies Ultra All in One Cloth Diapers

Cheap Diapers Online, Diaper Odor, Diapers

I’m completely new to cloth diapers. I’ve read lots of articles about cloth diapers and have perused thread after thread on message boards when researching what type of cloth diapers I wanted to buy. There are so many choices out there! But after much thought on the matter, I decided to buy Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers, with some Nature’s Baby and Tushies diapers available for backups just in case.

After my baby was born, I was uncertain if the Kushies Ultra All In One diapers would fit him. Even though he was a large baby, the Kushies diapers still seemed quite big, and I used Nature’s Baby disposable diapers for a little while. I needn’t have worried about size — the Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers fit my son perfectly and I’m a convert to the world of cloth diapers now and love these Kushies diapers.

Kushies diapers come in three sizes: Newborn (4 to 10 pounds), Infant (10 to 22 pounds) and Toddler (22 to 45 pounds). Each diaper is made up of 5 layers of cotton flannel with an outer waterproof cover.

The Cost of Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

Kushies Diapers are unbelievably inexpensive. You can purchase a 5 pack of the infant size diapers for $44 at amazon.com and for as low at $38.74 at WalMart.

The Look of Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

What first drew me to Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers was its look. Kushies have the cutest diaper designs! I bought my diapers in sets of five, and was delighted to see so many different styles of diapers emerge from the packaging. Some diapers were basic white, some were yellow and some were a beautiful sea green color. My favorite diapers were the ones that had little ducks on them and the ones with teddy bears. There are lots of really adorable designs on Kushies diapers, and I love the fact that the designs all vary so much.

The Feel of Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers are just as soft as you would expect for a cloth diaper. I put them to my skin to test them and can imagine that they feel wonderful on a baby and are much more comfortable than disposable diapers.

Fit of Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

I love the fit of these diapers. I’m using the Infant size diapers on my son right now which is good from 10 to 22 pounds. My son is around 15 pounds at the moment and so far the Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers are fitting just fine. I can tell that I will need to invest in the largest toddler size within a couple of months at most as they’re on the loosest setting already, but this is understandable with a large baby.

Kushies diapers are quite easy to put on. It seems to me that a large part of the appeal of the all in one diaper is that they work just like disposable ones. No extra cloth is needed — just put the diaper on as you would normally do with a disposable diaper and attach it with the velcro closures and voila! The diaper change is done.

Effectiveness of Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

Kushies Ultra All One Diapers are super absorbent. I’m reminded of Tushies diapers whenever I use them as they seem to absorb urine in much the same manner.

There is an extra long flap of cloth inside the Kushies diaper that is meant to be folded up and put in the front of the diaper with boys and in the back of the diaper for girls. This is meant as extra protection against wetness. It seems to work quite well as we have not any leaks, and the waterproof cover of the diapers remains dry at all times.

Another thing that impresses me about these diapers is how well they are fitted around the legs. It seems as though leaks would be nearly impossible to get through the folds of this area since the diaper is pressed so firmly against the skin. But even as fitted around the legs as these diapers are, they’re still loose and not too tight against a baby’s skin.

Caring for Kushies Ultra All In One Diapers

The idea of washing cloth diapers seemed mildly daunting to me at first, but washing cloth diapers really couldn’t be any simpler. All I do is place the diapers in a bag after they’re wet or soiled, and when I’ve gone through half of my set of diapers I put them straight into the washing machine just as I would do with anything else.
