Top Nicktoons of All Time

Nickelodeon, Rugrats

On August 11, 1991 America was introduced to Nicktoons. Nicktoons were the first cartoons to be made by Nickelodeon; before they were introduced Nickelodeon depended on older cartoons like Looney Tunes. Some of the cartoons that Nickelodeon aired were even made in other countries. Throughout the years, Nickelodeon has produced a variety of different Nicktoons ranging from baby adventures to the life of a girl in middle school. Many of these shows have been entertaining, but only a few of them could make it on this list. So, sit back and reminisce about a simpler time when all that mattered was when your favorite Nicktoons would be coming on.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #1: The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron

Though Jimmy Neutron didn’t make his appearance until 2002, he is still one of the best Nicktoons of all time. In fact, he is the best. In this show you will see a boy genius do his best to make his inventions work and most of the time they do. Other times, though, his inventions go horribly wrong and that’s where the comedy begins.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #2: Spongebob Squarepants

One of the most popular Nicktoons of all time has been Spongebob Squarepants. This show began in 1999 and shows the underwater adventures of Spongebob and all his crazy friends. Spongebob was also made into a movie. While the movie wasn’t that great, Spongebob continues to be a huge hit with kids and adults. Believe it or not, ¼ of the Spongebob fans are adults.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #3: Invader Zim

One of the weirdest Nicktoons of all time was Invader Zim. Unfortunately, this alien proved to be too weird for the Nicktoons lineup and was canceled before it hit its two year anniversary. Luckily, reruns of this show cans still be caught on the Nicktoons channel during weeknights at 1am.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #4: Rugrats

Rugrats was the second Nicktoon to air on August 11, 1991. This show proved to be one of the biggest Nicktoons of all time lasting an outstanding 14 years. There were movies, DVDs, and even a second show. It was the only original Nicktoon to make it out of the 90s.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #5: As Told By Ginger

Preteen girls loved this show. Nickelodeon appears to have been reaching out to older audiences by releasing shows like this one. Unfortunately, it didn’t work because this show only lasted four years. It’s really a shame, because this show was perfect young girls.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #6: Doug

Doug was the first Nicktoon to hit the airwaves on August 11, 1991. Anyone who grew up watching this show can still remember the theme song perfectly. On this show we saw a young boy living a typical life. He went to school, went camping, and tried to win over Patti Mayonnaise. Unfortunately, the show was canceled and eventually purchased by Disney.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #7: Hey Arnold!

Many Nicktoons show kids living normal lives and facing everyday problems. That’s why they are so popular. Hey Arnold was no different, except for the fact that he grew up in a big city. This was another show that was destined to be a movie. This was one of the most popular Nicktoons lasting almost 8 years.

Top Nicktoons of All Time #8: All Grown Up

Rugrats was so popular that Nickelodeon turned it into a second show. In this show we see all of our favorite Rugrats all grown up. Unfortunately, fans weren’t interested in seeing their favorite characters grow up and the series only lasted a little over three years.
