Top Five Skorts for Older Women Golfers

Lycra, Older Women

Golf is an active game and many times is played in hot, humid environments. Lightweight clothing that moves when you swing, allows you to bend and sit with ease, and doesn’t stick badly to your skin is highly desirable. Many women like shorts and many golf courses have a dress code that ensures you look presentable. But a skort, a pair of shorts with a skirt over the top, can make you look sexier and more feminine while providing the ease and comfort of shorts. Here’s the list of my favorites and a confession that I just found Zappos.com and find them wonderfully prompt and easy to use.

#1 Favorite Skort for Older Women Golfers – Adidas ClimaCool Skort

This skort, like all listed, has an elastic waistband that helps with the extra weight you put on in middle age. It is also a bit longer than many of the others so is more appropriate for golf. Many of the skorts are also worn by tennis players that prefer a shorter hem length. It comes in several shades, is made of CoolMax which has an ultra-violet protection factor of 15+ and lycra and a bit heavier than some of the other skirts which makes it suitable for warmer climates.

#2 Favorite Skort for Older Women Golfers — Moving Comfort Lunge Skort

This skort has a mesh skirt which is a bit casual for golf, but also has a longer hem line. It slides on easily and is comfortable to wear. It comes in three colors, blue, pink and black, but I only found blue in stock. It’s made of nylon and polyester.

#3 Favorite Skort For Older Women Golfers — Moving Comfort Endurance Skort

This skort, shown in the picture, is made of two very thin layers of polyester with lycra for stretch and a DryLayer technology to keep you feeling dry and comfortable. It doesn’t stick to your legs when you sit on a hot seat. It comes in black and black with a red and blush stripe.

#4 Favorite Skort for Older Women Golfers – Puma Running Skort

This light weight skort has a lycra shorts and a lightweight nylon skirt with a bit more give for running and a bit shorter hemline. The waistline is comfortable but doesn’t have a cord to keep it fixed to your waist so can roll when you sit. Otherwise, its one of the most comfortable skorts I’ve worn. The only color is a light brown.

#5 Favorite Skort for Older Women Golfers -Liz Claiborne Skort Suit

This cotton lycra skort comes with a jacket that matches that makes it suitable for colder climates and fall wear. It is shorter than I like but wears easily and has a cord. It is the dressiest of the skorts and is as suitable for business as for exercise. I bought this one at Macy’s a couple years back and don’t see the one I bought, the link goes to some of the latest offerings.

These skorts are making my transistion to Florida much easier. My old favorite skort was made by Land’s End out of cotton mesh but they haven’t offered them for several years. Other types of skorts have the awkward problem of the skirt rising above the short, clinging to the short, or not offering a clean line. All of these skorts are sure to please.
