Top 3 Burger Joints in Tucson, Arizona

Ajo, Burger Bar, Gourmet Burgers, In-n-out Burger

Below are the top 3 burger joints in Tucson Arizona.

Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar is located at: 1865 E. River Road, Suite 101, just west of N. Campbell Avenue. Although a bit pricey – $8.00-$14.00 per entrée, Zinburger has the best and biggest gourmet burgers – including the bun. Their menu items are made with high quality ingredients, including the beef, cheeses and other toppings. The food is very tasty and juicy and never greasy. If you want to try their house burger, called of course the Zinburger, it is topped with Manchego cheese, braised onions and mayonnaise. The Samburger it topped with maple bacon, american cheese & thousand island dressing. If you want to try a hamburger a bit different than the usual, try their Kobe burger – a Japanese burger, which is a little sweet and garnished with Vermont cheddar cheese, wild mushrooms and mayonnaise. The Kobe burger is their most expensive hamburger. The other burgers on the menu are: a turkey burger, a veggie burger and an original burger which is topped with the usual lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Each burger comes with its’ own gourmet toppings but you can add the custom toppings of your choice for an extra $1.00 per topping. In addition to the toppings I’ve mentioned above, those toppings include 4 other different types of cheese including goat cheese, barbeque sauce, jalapenos, roasted peppers and surprisingly to me, fried egg. Fries are purchased separately so while you’re there, also try their delicious zucchini fries and sweet potato chips. End your meal with their out-of-this world desserts such as the crème Brulee, or their black cow float – made with vanilla ice cream and root beer soda. This restaurant also has a full bar and indoor and outdoor seating. Their hours are: Sunday-Thursday: 11:00 A.M.-10:00 P.M.; and Friday & Saturday: 11:00 A.M.-11:00 P.M. Happy hour is every day from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. Their telephone number is: 520-299-7799. If you have a Fox Restaurant gift card you can use it at this Zinburger restaurant. Monkey Burger also serves delicious gourmet burgers and they are a bit less expensive than Zinburger above. Their burgers may be the biggest I have ever seen. They are located at: 5350 E. Broadway Blvd., Suite 128, in the Williams Center at N. Craycroft Road. Their hamburgers are made with all high quality products including the beef. Their burger prices range from $6.50 – $9.50. They serve 9 different burgers and all their burgers come with chips. If you really want to be very full after you eat, or too full to finish, try their Chef Mattie’s Monkey burger, which is topped with cheddar cheese and swiss cheese, roasted poblano peppers, sautéed mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomato and bacon. The top of the bun can hardly stay on above all those toppings. The bacon and pickle slices are huge. Another interesting burger of their’s is the Vegas Baby burger. It is topped with Merlot onions, Gruyere cheese and steamed spinach. Some of their other burgers have different unusual toppings such as: avocado pesto, avocado salsa, basil boursin spread, Tabasco scallion aioli, and pineapple relish. Their toppings range in flavor from sweet to very spicy. While you’re there try some sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. Their hours are: Monday-Thursday: 11:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M.; Friday & Saturday: 11:00 A.M.-10:00 P.M.; and Sunday: 11:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Their telephone number is: 520-514-9797. In-N-Out Burger has 3 convenient locations: 1979 E. Ajo Way, at I-10; 3711 E. Broadway Blvd., west of N. Alvernon Way and in front of El Con Mall; and 8180 Cortaro Road, west of I-10 in Marana. Another 2 will be opening soon at: 7111 E. Broadway Blvd., at N. Kolb Road; and at 11545 N. Oracle Road, past El Conquistador Way in Oro Valley. Although they are fast food don’t let that scare you away. They have excellent burgers and their prices are extremely reasonable for such a great burger. I first was introduced to In-N-Out Burger on vacation in San Francisco, California and what I was first told was that their burgers are fresh – compared to the frozen ones at other fast food restaurants. I was so surprised when I tasted one, as all I could think of was “a fast food burger.” It really was different and so much better. All of their menu items are fresh and high quality, including their French fries and buns. They use 100% pure beef in their burgers and your burger is grilled after you place your order. None of their menu items are ever previously frozen, or prepackaged and nothing is microwaved. They sell 3 different types of burgers: a regular hamburger, a cheeseburger and a double hamburger which has 2 hamburger patties and 2 slices of cheese. All their hamburgers come with lettuce, tomato and a dressing and you can order one with, or without onions. All of their burgers are priced under $4.00. While you are there, enjoy one of their shakes which is made with real ice cream. They are open: Sunday – Thursday: 10:30 A.M.-1:00 A.M.; and Friday & Saturday: 10:30 A.M.-1:30 A.M. They have drive-thru service available. Their toll free telephone number is: 1-800-786-1000.
