Red Robin Restaurant in Valparaiso, Indiana – Is it Better Than the Rest?

Gourmet Burgers, Red Robin, Valparaiso, Valparaiso Indiana

My family and I moved to Valparaiso Indiana this past July, and we’ve been trying area restaurants in an effort to find our favorites. We recently visited Red Robin restaurant in Valparaiso Indiana, and the following is a review of the food, customer service, and our overall experience. The review will help you decide if Red Robin restaurant in Valparaiso Indiana, or any other location, is a restaurant worth trying.

Although I’m not a big meat eater, especially beef, I was anxious to try the famous Red Robin gourmet burgers I had heard so much about from the television commercials and from my son who sang their theme song each time we passed the restaurant. I’m always willing to try something new, and our visit to Red Robin in Valparaiso Indiana promised to be a refreshing change from the usual burgers and fries available in area fast food restaurants.

Atmosphere

When entering Red Robin in Valparaiso Indiana I noticed it was very modern looking, roomy, and aesthetically appealing. The lights above each table looked like contemporary works of art, and each one was a different color. The interior of this restaurant looked nothing like I expected. With a name like Red Robin I expected a wildlife theme or something similar, but I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was primarily red, and although this corresponds with the name, I’m assuming this color is meant to induce hunger.

Customer Service

A friendly hostess seated my husband, daughter, and I at a booth, and shortly thereafter our server arrived at our table with menus in hand. He was very friendly, and took our drink orders. After a few minutes he came back to take our food order. The menu was extensive, and it was a difficult decision. Prices were a little steep, so I focused on the sandwiches rather than the pricier meals.

Placing Our Order

I ordered a burger with bacon and guacamole, my daughter ordered her usual chicken strips, and my husband ordered a chili burger. The server informed us that the steak fries were bottomless, meaning they were all-you-can eat. I’ll admit I’m not a big fan of steak fries. I prefer the skinnier fries over large steak fries that aren’t nearly as crisp.

Food Quality and Value

My guacamole bacon burger and steak fries were good, and this burger was a nice change from the usual burgers offered in other restaurants. I don’t usually eat large quantities of food, so I had no intention of requesting more steak fries, but my husband did. This was a nice bonus, but I would have been happier if other choices of potatoes had been presented. I probably would have ordered mine baked instead of fried. My husband and daughter also enjoyed their food, but we didn’t think it was outstanding by any means.

My Overall Opinion of This Valparaiso Indiana Restaurant

Red Robin in Valparaiso Indiana is good if you want to try something different, but in my opinion, for the price it really wasn’t different enough. If given the choice I’d pick Steak N Shake over Red Robin in Valparaiso Indiana. We really didn’t have a negative experience at Red Robin in Valparaiso Indiana, but again, I wasn’t overly impressed. Maybe it’s because I’m really not a big fan of hamburgers in the first place. It wasn’t bad by any means, but my husband and I both agreed that we won’t be returning anytime soon, and we’ll continue trying area restaurants in an effort to establish our personal favorites.
