Top 3 Bars in Conshohocken, PA

Top 3 Bars

Conshohocken is suburb of Philly, bustling with night life, and a popular home for many post-graduates and older people. You won’t find a lot of college kids here, unlike in the city, so the crowds are generally a bit more tame. But that’s not to say they’re dull crowds! Conshohocken has a lot of bars within walking distance of each other, and there’s something for everyone here! Below are my three favorite places.

Number 3 – The Stone Rose

This fairly new place is a great place to relax and have a few drinks, and some amazing food. This isn’t the type of place to go to if you are looking to get drunk, and as a result the crowd is quieter and the atmosphere less hectic. The beers and drinks are reasonably priced, and the TVs above the bar are great for checking out a game. The food is incredible, especially their burgers, which are the best I’ve ever had. The homemade topping of sauteed onions and diced bacon is incredible. It comes with some of the best fries I’ve ever had. You could take a date there and have dinner and a drink and spend about 30 bucks for some high quality food, which is a bargain. There’s not really any music here, so the crowd doens’t get too loud. This is the place to go in town for a quiet night out in a nice place without having to spend too much of your hard earned money.

Pros – The food and the atmosphere

Cons – Fairly small, so not that enjoyable if crowded. Also parking is not easy to find.

Number 2 – Baggataway Tavern

This lacrosse themed bar in West Conshohocken is very enjoyable. There’s always a great atmosphere for a wide variety of sporting events. They have a great selection of beers, all priced reasonably. On Fridays during Happy Hour, they have free wings, which are some of the best in town. All around this place is a great night out. And for nice weather they have a great outside deck, and plenty of parking. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The ambience is great at this bar, as there are lots of things to look at on the walls. The patrons are a good crowd, friendly but not overly agressive.

Pros – The food, beer selection, sports atmosphere

Cons – Sometimes it can be too noisy, and the bathrooms are cramped.

Number 1 – The Boathouse

Sitting two doors down from Consh’s other famous bar, the Great American Pub, I prefer this Boathouse for a few reasons. It has by far the best beer selection in the area, both on tap and bottled. They also boast some great food prices. They have a variety of wing flavors, and they are all pretty good. On Wendesdays they have free wings with the purchase of a pitcher of beer. There are also tons of TVs to show any game you want to watch. It’s an all around fun environment. The Boathouse also has Tuesday night Quizzo, which is a fun experience. The Happy Hours are great, with a large selection priced at 3 dollars a pint to go along with the daily specials. So you don’t need to worry about spending a lot of money. The bartenders are usually pretty quick to serve you, even when the place is busy. And they’ll always let you sample one of the many beers they have on tap before you spend money on it. The bar also has touchscreen video monitors that feature games such as Photo Hunt and trivia, so there is plenty to do here.
