Top 20 Techno Songs for Working Out

Best Techno Songs, Deejay, Techno, Tetris

I never was much of a techno fanatic until I discovered how techno makes working out seem effortless. Since then I have been quite the addict. So, the songs that made my Techno Top 20 are all on my “workout” playlist on my ipod, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for new treadmill music.

20. Listen to Your Heart by D.H.T.- I admit, this song is saccharine to the point of cheesiness, but something about it makes me blast the radio every time I hear it. Avoid the candle light version though, there are few things less boring.

19. I See Girls-My dance team did a jazz dance to this song, and by the end of the season I was sick of it, but now it brings fond memories. Great song for dance team or studio dancers if you’re looking for new music!

18. Hong Kong by Monolake- I wasn’t a fan the first time I heard it, but trust me, it’ll grow on you.

17. Consumed by Plastikman- A lot of people don’t know about this artist sadly, but it’s worth checking out. Definitely one of my favorite techno songs from the 90’s.

16. Tetris by 2 pm- The beginning of this one is hilarious “Let’s play some tetris mother****ers” and then it launches into the beloved Tetris theme with a very heavy techno beat.

15. Equador by Sash! Yes, this European techno artist is so amazing, the name gets an exclamation mark. The lyrics are French, which I think adds a really neat sound to the song.

14. Check This Out by DJ Trashy- great beat, this is a good one when you’re on the freeway at night.

13. My oh my by DJ Epic- an outstanding track in all respects

12. Toca’s Miracle by DJ Skribble- If you get a chance, find the live version-very impressive. Not many techno musicians can perform live without creating a huge disaster.

11. Not A Test by DJ Icey-Best song for the exercise bike!

10. Angel Eyes by Serina Paris-Corny remake of the Abba classic, but a fun song nonetheless!

9. Starry Eyed Surprise by Paul Oakenfold-Oakenfold is pretty much amazing. This song is really fun to dance to in the clubs.

8. The entire album “Mistake mistake mistake mistake” by James Figurine- One half of my favorite group, the Postal Service, has put out a great album. I appreciate the lack of cliché and the clever lyrics.

7. Satisfaction by Benny Bennassi- I’m sorry, I just had to include this song, because it’s hilarious and so is the music video.

6. James Brown is Still Alive by Holy Noise-Old School and therefore classic.

5. 50,000 Watts of Power by Servants of Power-The above description applies to this song as well

4. Better off Alone by Alice Deejay-Pretty much anything by Alice Deejay is good for listening to when working out, but this one really keeps me motivated.

3. Braveheart Theme Techno Mix by Moby-This is not usually what people think of right away when I mention Moby, but I think it’s a brilliant song-mixes my favorite soundtrack with a great beat

2. Everytime We Touch by Cascada- This one sounds a lot like a traditional pop song, but don’t be fooled-that beat could get a sloth up and moving!
