Indestructible

From the very beginning with The Sickness to Believe in 2002 to the their second highest selling album Ten Thousand Fists to war based album Indestructible to finally Disturbed’s newest album Asylum, Disturbed has dominated the Hard Rock/Metal scene from their very begging. With well over 11 million total albums sold worldwide, Disturbed is one of the most popular rock bands in the world. Disturbed consists of lead singer David Draiman, drummer Mike Wengren, guitarist Dan Donegan and bassist John Moyer.

In this article, I will list what I believe are the Top 10 Disturbed songs so far. Listing a top 10 is not easy with this band because of how good each and every one of their songs is. Each Album brings something new and powerful to the table making it hard to choose a top 10.

10. Conflict

We begin with a song commonly misnamed by uneducated fans as “Enemy”, coming straight from The Sickness; Conflict dominates with killer guitar and drum play. The listener gets a feeling of being faced by an enemy as lead singer David Draiman repeats the words in a chilling voice.

9. Asylum

Asylum features the album of the same name by disturbed. It is one of the best songs on the album bringing the listener into a state where you can feel yourself inside of an asylum. Killer lyrics are combined with some of the best guitar play ever by Disturbed.

8. The Game

The second track on The Sickness, The Game brings a lot to the table. Deep lyrics and trademark guitar and drum play make The Game an all time great.

7. Prayer

My Favorite track from Believe, Prayer brings amazing vocals with great guitar play by Dan Donegan. It showcases a religious side to Disturbed that isn’t extreme but gives Prayer a unique look and sound that even after hundreds of plays makes you want to come back for more.

6. Indestructible

Straight out of the Album by the same name, Indestructible is song based solely off of war and overcoming a tremendous fight. Indestructible has an extremely powerful element to it, making the listener feel indestructible to any challenge. Its classic disturbed and a must hear.

5. Pain Redefined

A song of pain and suffering and having to overcome a broken heart, this song is vocally extremely deep. With its low where the singer is completely down on himself to a climax where new energy revitalizes him, bring him new life and energy. If you love deep lyrics with powerful drum and guitar play that is all combined into overcoming a challenge, Pain Redefined is for you. I find myself listening to this song over and over, trying to determine exactly what its inner meaning is, always coming up with a different view, which overall makes this song one of the best by Disturbed.

4. The Night

A deep dark track on the Indestructible album bringing The Night to you. Its dark portrayal gives the listener a sense of fear and a haunting. It refers to the darkness inside and having to overcome it. A great track that you will find yourself listening to over and over.

3. The Warrior

In a sense, a faster and more powerful version of Indestructible. The Warrior is from Disturbed’s newest album Asylum. A face to face battle by warriors brings great intensity to an already great song. Vocals are fast paced with great guitar and sick drum play making The Warrior an all around great.

2. Inside the Fire

By far, Inside the Fire is the greatest solo of any in the Disturbed collection. Inside the Fire, from the Indestructible album is the heavy metal side of Disturbed. It’s as epic as it gets with disturbed. Words can’t really describe how good this song is.

1. Down with the Sickness

Undeniably Disturbed’s most popular and greatest track of all time. No other song comes close. Everybody has heard of this song, it is what made Disturbed as popular as it is. One of the greatest songs when you need/want to get pumped up, Down with the Sickness is as good as they get. It stands alone, atop all of the other great Disturbed tracks; Down with the Sickness is untouchable.
