Top 10 Beyonce Songs

Bonnie and Clyde, Cheating Boyfriend, Feeling Sexy

Beyonce Knowles is known through out the world as a gifted singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, choreographer, video director, actress and model. Knowles’ success rose in the late 90’s as the lead singer of the girl group, Destiny’s Child. In June 2003, Beyonce, released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, which became one of the most successful albums of that year; the album alone gave her recognition and proven creditability as a solo artist. Beyonce has sold over 75 million records worldwide in her total career. No wonder she is one of the most popular, top diva, in the Hip Hop and R&B; arena. I am a Beyonce Fan and the following are my top 10 favorite Beyonce songs.

The tenth Beyonce song is Sweet Dream (2009). Sweet Dream is one of Beyonce’s latest releases. This song has a nice, melodious upbeat, sound with a sweet 80’s flair. The song’s lyrics flow smoothly with the music and I love how it incorporates the theme of love and dreams which gives the song more depth and meaning.

Ego (2009) is the ninth Beyonce song on my list. Ego has a deep R&B; feel. The song is very uplifting and it is about being confident and believing in self. The song states that it is alright to have a big ego as long as you can back it up. Ego is a delightful song filled with encouraging words.

The next Beyonce song on my list is Bonnie and Clyde (2002). Bonnie and Clyde is credited to Jay-Z and is featuring Beyonce; this is a sequel to Me and My Girlfriend by Tupac which features some classic lines from Jay-Z (“She rides wit’ me / the new Bobby and Whitney / The only time we don’t speak is during Sex and the City). Beyonce, supplies the hook and harmonies to Bonnie and Clyde. This song shows the love and commitment between Beyonce and her husband, Jay-Z.

Upgrade U (2006) is the seventh Beyonce song on my list. This song features Jay-Z. I like this song because of its unique, urban flavored beats. The lyrics are positive and show how women can have the power to financially be successful and help upgrade their men to be the best that they can be.

The sixth Beyonce song is Me, Myself and I (2003). Me, Myself, and I, has a smooth, jazzy, R&B; feel to the song. This song is a break up song in which she reflects on her past of a cheating boyfriend and moving on with her life. It is a song of self discovery and learning to be your own person and not letting your significant other be the essence of who are. In other words you are complete and whole by being by yourself. This song shows you how to learn and grow from a past hurts and broken relationships.

Naughty Girl
(2004) is the fifth song on my list. Beyonce starts Naughty Girl off with the remembrance of Donna Summer’s disco-era classic Love to Love You Baby while producer, Scott Storch, brings in a rich blend of the Middle Eastern flavor of the Neptunes (Kashmir). Beyonce creates passion and flame when she sings the steamy lyrics to this song she states, “I’m feeling sexy. I want to hear you say my name, boy” before promising “Tonight, I’ll be your naughty girl.”

The next Beyonce song on my list is If I were a Boy (2008). The other Top 5 single from Beyonce’s latest album, I am . . . Sasha Fierce, If I Were a Boy is a sensational, acoustic-guitar-driven ballad. This song is one of Beyonce’s best. You can actually feel the power of emotions in her voice as she takes another stand for single ladies everywhere in her lyrics. Beyonce pours her soul into this song as she imagines the better job she could do as a boy, “I’d listen to her ’cause I know how it hurts when you lose the one you wanted ’cause he’s taken you for granted and everything you had got destroyed.”

Crazy in Love (2003) is the third Beyonce song on my list. This song also features Jay-Z. I love this song because I believe it is the song that paved her way as a solo artist. Crazy in Love was so successful that the first beats from the song is forever etched into our minds. It is a song of distinction. In the Crazy in Love Video, Jay-Z has his fists in the air, as Beyonce seductively struts up a ramp in her finest Daisy Dukes.

The second Beyonce song is Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) (2008). This song is filled with awesome hooks – the way the handclaps and killer-drum beat, the verses makes you want to get up and dance, and the whoa-oh-ohs, chorus hook radiates in your ears . . . and the lyrics are splendid. This song was masterfully done. I can see why it is one of Beyonce’s big hits.

The number one Beyonce song is Halo. I love Halo because of the deep rooted message behind the song. Halo is a spiritual love song that shows what true love is all about. The song gives a vivid depiction of how a person feels when they have truly found their soul mate, the person that they want to spend the rest of their life with.

This is the Beyonce song that I will cherish for a life time. Beyonce is a modern day music icon. Her music is enjoyed and loved by millions. This is only the tip of the Iceberg for Beyonce; I see her going far and making history along the way. She has a bright future ahead or her in both music and film. I am a fan for life.
