The Top Five Wine Bars in Atlanta, Georgia

Rose Wine, Wine Bars

Atlanta has it all, a fantastic nightlife, great restaurants and of course amazing wine bars. We feature some of the top wine bars in the country as well as excellent cuisine for every type of ethnic food. Whether you are visiting or you live in the area, check out these top five wine bars that offer the best of Atlanta.

D’Vino Wine Bar and Shop: This is the creme de la creme of wine bars. Voted by Wine Spectator the “2009 Award of Excellence” and in 2008 was voted “Best Wine Bar” by AOL city guide. This wine bar has it all. It offers tasting events, over 500 wines, 60 wines you can buy by the glass, a gourmet market , desserts and after coffees. The food menu features excellent light cuisine. I recommend ordering the appetizer Brie of the Day. If meeting friends, try the cheese plate. Simply yum! For wines I recommend going for the half bottles. Try the Faust Cabernet Sauvigon 2004 or the Odder Barolo 1997. You can call them at 770-350-WINE.

VinoCity Kirkwood: The website says it all, its all first class with this amazing wine bar. The atmosphere is comfortable and the food is delightful. If ordering from the menu I suggest the Hanger steak or the Shrimp and Grits. However, everything on the menu is good. If you prefer a brunch, then you will enjoy that menu as well. I love the fact that brunch is BOTH Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 3pm. The wine list is superb. Vinocity offers over 70 wines served by the glass. the staff is highly knowledgeable and recommend a wine based on your taste. For Chardonnay I recommend St. Clement 2006 or for a nice red the Raymond “R” Collection 2004. Check out there website for events and specials at www.VinoCityWineBar.Com

Flemings Steakhouse and Wine Bar: If it were possible for steak to melt in your mouth, then Flemings has that secret recipe. First, I recommend trying for a appetizer the chilled seafood tower, then for the main course order the prime New York strip or Main Filet Mignon. Each is fantastic. If you are in the mood for a salad try the Fleming’s Salad. For dessert finish off with a order of the frozen Lemon Gingersnap Pie or the Walnut Turtle Pie. Leave the calorie counting at the door! If time allows go for the 5 for $6 till 7. Here you will enjoy five wines by the glass and five desserts for $6 dollars each. Flemings boast a 100 wines available by the glass and 30 wines served by the glass for under $10 dollars. For a white wine I recommend Redbank Pinot Grigio 2008. For a Red Wine I recommend Volpaia Chianti 2005. Check out there website at www.FlemingsSteakHouse.Com

The Glenwood Gastro and Wine Bar: The atmosphere is classy and inviting. The cuisine offers something for everyone. I suggest ordering the appetizer of the Fried Green Tomatoes, and a main dish of the Eastern North Carolina BBQ. Ask for extra side of their sauce for dipping. The wine selection is impressive as well. For a smooth red order, a glass of Pascual Toso. A wonderful Riesling to order is the Saint M.

Social: Light, casual and fun is the atmosphere at Social. It spans two floors, with a wonderful wine bar and menu that is great for sharing. They serve both lunch and dinner. I recommend ordering a rose wine from their list called Jean-Luc Colombo or a Merlot like Chateau Les St. Armants. Check out there website at www.SocialInTown.Com
