The Biggest Loser Asia Concludes

Biggest Loser

Yesterday, in good old Biggest Loser fashion, The Biggest Loser Asia aired its finale. The final 4 competitors left their hovel in Malaysia and went on to their homes to train for themselves until the finale where a final weigh-in will determine Asia’s first Biggest Loser. The final 4 were Martha from Hong Kong, David from Indonesia, Carlo from the Philippines, and Aaron from Malaysia. They had roughly 2 1/2 months to work out on their own before the finale.

Tuesday night in Manila, March 9, 2010, at the Hallmark channel, the final episode on the mansion ran from 9 pm to 10 pm and from 10 pm to 12 midnight was the finale. The finale featured the other contestants who were eliminated and the top 4 among the at-home contestants. Most of them lost a lot of weight and they looked different from how they looked liked when they first appeared on the show. Even the trainers gained recognition for their efforts to help out the contenders.

Much like The Biggest Loser, the finale featured the journey of the contestants and how they endured rough training and utmost discipline with their trainers Dave Nuku and Kristy Curtis and with the support of their main sponsor, Fitness First.

Near the end of the finale, the journey of the final 4 was shown and they gave their insights about the competition and how grateful they are. Then at long last, the final 4 were revealed and true enough they’ve shown great improvement. However, there can only be one Asia’s Biggest Loser.

One by one, they stepped on the weighing scale then the results were revealed. Martha came in 4th place, Aaron in 3rd place, and then it was a battle between Carlo who looked really healthy and David who really lost a lot of weight. True enough, David won by losing more than half of his body weight and Carlo came in as the runner-up.

However, through The Biggest Loser Asia facebook page, fans started to comment on how David looked. He was indeed thin but he did not seem to be healthy. He looked pretty weak and he doesn’t seem to have much energy for someone who should be healthy. Assumptions flooded like crazy that he must have done something to lose that much weight in such a short time making him look that way at the finale. Nevertheless, it was the numbers that counted and he did shed the highest weight percentage.

Losing weight is tough and all of them made effort to lose weight and most of them looked really happy and fulfilled. Some did not achieve as much as the others but they feel like they are also winners. Even though much controversy has happened, the viewers are still happy that they did everything they can to be Asia’s Biggest Loser. It is a really good reality show series.
