There are always several places to find great food at Zurich restaurants just like the majority of most cities. Here we have developed a list of the best Zurich restaurants available for you to try in alphabetical order, which have been arranged by cuisine instead of by preference in hopes that the next time you are in Zurich you will enjoy some of the fine cusine.

Swiss Cuisine

Le Dézaley (Römergasse 7+9): are famous for their Fondue as well as their Vaudoise style of cooking. They always have the best selection of Swiss wines on hand as well, but their most noted wine is from the Dezaley region. With them being in the shadow of the Grossmunster it would be a safe bet for you to book your reservation well in advance, especially since their Fondue is among the best around.

Bierhalle Kropf (In Gassen 16): is a quiet little cafe that offers traditional Swiss fayre, which sports an extremely decorated Art Nouveau ceiling in one of the three rooms that will cause your eyes to wonder during the course of your meal. They are famous for their liver-balls in gravy with a side order of Rosti.

Zeughauskeller (Bahnhofstrasse 28a): is located new the shoppers district of Bahnhofstrasse and is one of the oldest restaurants in Zurich. Their specialty is sausages from all over Switzerland as well as Chimay Blue. They also offer an amazing selection of Swiss beers, but be sure to call in advance to make your reservations.

Zur Oepfelchammer (Rindermarkt 12): was a one time hangout of Gottfried Keller, who was a Swiss writer. They are famous for their slice veal in cream sauce and white wines from around the region.

Seasonal Cuisine

Anthonys Kitchen (Nordstrasse 199, 8039 Zurich): one of the best restaurants in Zurich, which specializes in sea food and prepares their food fresh daily in an Asian style in an intimate atmosphere.

Caduffs Wine Loft (Kanzleistrasse 126, CH-8004 Zurich): one of the finest restaurants in Zurich, which carries over two thousand different vintages of wine in their cellar, which their patrons are allowed to choose from. Their menu changes daily, which allows for seasonal changes as well.

Mediterranean Cuisine

Cantina (Niederdorfstrasse 10.): located in the tourist area known as Neiderdorf it offers a great selection of pasta dishes at reasonable prices. Service is normally quite prompt, but reservations are not necessary.

Blockhus (Schifflände 4): it is a small, but intimate restaurant that is extremely popular with the locals, which serves quality cuisine. They are famous for their lamb with mustard and duck with orange sauce, but their wine list is not that extensive, but it is of great quality. Please make reservation.

Casa Aurelio (Langstrasse 209): serves high-quality food with excellent wines, but reservations are highly recommended.

Asian

Mishio (Sihlstrasse 9, 8021 Zürich): a terrific place to get casual dining with a wide selection of open wines and great place for a quick lunch.

Sala Thai (Kanonengasse 31 CH-8004 Zürich): quality food at a decent price with good veggie dishes.
