The one hour paranormal television series known as “Ghost Whisperer” revolves around the life of medium “Melinda Gordon” and her husband. The series evolved from the work of real life medium, James Van Praagh who is also a co-executive producer to the show. Ghost Whisperer” has been nominated for an Emmy as well as a Teen Choice Award.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt the actress who plays “Melinda Gordon” on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer” was born on February 21, 1979 in Waco, Texas to Herbert Daniel Hewitt and Patricia Mae Shipp. Hewitt has a brother by the name of Todd. Hewitt’s parents divorced when she was young. At a young age, the precocious Hewitt showed a talent for singing as well as acting. In 1989, Hewitt moved to Los Angeles, California where she appeared in several television commercials including one for Mattel Toys.

Hewitt’s debut in television was on the children’s variety series, “Kids Incorporated” in 1989. Hewitt next appeared in television shows that were short lived such as, “Shaky Ground” (1992-1993), “Byrds of Paradise” (1994) and “McKenna” (1994-1995). Hewitt also starred in films such as, “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit” (1993), “House Arrest” (1996) and “Can’t Hardly Wait” (1998). In 1995, Hewitt won the role of “Sarah Reeves” on the television drama, “Party of Five”. She stayed with series for four years. In 1997, Hewitt starred in the horror film, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” which earned her a Blockbuster Entertainment Award and a Teen Choice Award. A year later, she appeared in the sequel, “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer”.

Two years later Hewitt starred as the lead in another failed series entitled, “Time of Your Life” which earned her a People’s Choice Award. In 2000, she appeared as “Audrey Hepburn” in “The Audrey Hepburn Story. Films followed including, “Heartbreakers” (2001), “The Tuxedo” (2002) and “Garfield” (2004). In 2005, Hewitt won the role of “Melinda Gordon” on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer” which earned her a Saturn Award. The series just ended it’s second season in May of 2007 and has been picked up for a third season.

In 1995, Hewitt released her debut album in the United States entitled, “Let’s Go Bang. Two more albums followed including, “BareNaked” in 2002. Hewitt has dated Will Friedle, Carson Daly and Rich Cronin. She is currently dating actor Ross McCall who she met on the set of “Ghost Whisperer”.

David Conrad

David Conrad the actor who plays “Jim Clancy” on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer” was born on August 17, 1967 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Jim and Margaret Conrad. Conrad has two brothers. Conrad has attended, The Kiski School in Pennsylvania, Brown University in Rhode Island and the Julliard School in New York.

Conrad made his film debut in the 1993 horror flick, “Darkness”. Films that followed were, “Under Heat” (1996), “Snow White: A Tale of Terror” (1997), “Return to Paradise” (1998), “Men of Honor” (2000) and “Wedding Crashers” (2005). Television work include, “Relativity” (1996), “Roswell” (2000), “Boston Public” (2003) and “Miss Match” (2003-2005). In 2005, Conrad won the role of “Jim Clancy on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer”. Conrad has also appeared on the stage debuting on Broadway in 1998 with Blythe Danner in, “The Deep Blue Sea.

Camryn Manheim

Camryn Manheim the actress who plays “Delia Banks” on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer” was born on March 8, 1961 in Caldwell, New Jersey. Manheim has attended Cabrillo Junior College and University of California as well as the New York University.

Manheim appeared on stage for the first time in 1987 and several productions followed. She made her film debut in 1983 with the action flick, “Sudden Impact. More film work followed such as, “The Bonfire of the Vanities” (1990), “Eraser” (1996), “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” (1997), “The Laramie Project” (2002), “Scary Movie 3” (2003) and “Dark Water” (2005). Television work include, “Law & Order” (1991-1994), “Will and Grace” (2000) and “Boston Public” (2001).

In 1997, Manheim won the role of “Ellenor Frutt” on the television legal drama, “The Practice”. The series earned Manheim an Emmy as well as a Golden Globe. Manheim stayed with the series until it’s end in 2004. The following year, Manheim appeared as Elvis Presley’s mother in the television movie simply titled, “Elvis. In 2006, Manheim won the role of, “Delia Banks” on the television series, “Ghost Whisperer”.

In 2000, Manheim’s own autobiography was published entitled, “Wake Up, I’m Fat” which was penned after her stage show. In 2001, she gave birth to son, Milo Jacob.
