Sunkist Organic Valencia Oranges Review

Red Delicious, Valencia

Recently we have been getting just as many oranges as we do of apples and bananas. These three fruits tend to be the cheapest options for organic fruit. When it comes time to get bananas I choose Dole Organic Bananas or Del Monte Organic Bananas and apples I will often choose the cheapest but I have been known to get Safeway O Organics Fuji and Braeburn Apples, Stemilt Artisan Organic Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Braeburn Apples, Superfresh Growers Organic Red Delicious Apples, Nature’s Delight Organic Granny Smith Apples, Viva Tierra Organic Royal Gala Apples and many, many more. As for oranges I have tried Our World Organics Valencia Oranges, Tres Rios Premium Citrus Organic Valencia Oranges, Organic California Valencia Oranges, Rainbow Valley Orchards Organic Valencia Oranges and most recently Sunkist Organic Valencia Oranges.

The week that I bough the Sunkist Organic Valencia Oranges I bought a little over three and a half pounds worth of oranges. The organic oranges were one dollar and twenty nine cents per pound so I paid four dollars and sixty three cents. I only got six oranges and so each organic medium size valencia orange weighed about three fifths of a pound. I could tell that they were considered medium organic oranges by their price look-up code and I also thought that they looked medium size. They were certainly cheaper per pound this apples but on average they weigh more than apples. In fact they were a similar price to what you pay when you get a bag of organic oranges except I was able to pick out the specific ones that I wanted. I didn’t feel that these oranges were poorly priced and could not wait to give them a try and was eager to choose some to buy.

The overall look of Sunkist Organic Valencia Oranges were definitely not perfect. They were not perfectly round and had a blemish or two. I didn’t mind though because they were a very fair price and you can’t really judge a fruit buy its outside. As I was choosing them I was careful to select ones that did not feel too soft and did not have any soft spots. This was not hard at all as nearly all of them on display were not overly soft or had soft spots. Just look how you can turn black bananas into wonderfully yummy banana bread. I peeled the orange with much ease and discovered the oranges had a decent amount of juice. I wouldn’t say that they had a lot of juice or anything but they were not overly dry either. There taste was pretty standard for your average organic valencia orange so I was not disappointed. Despite their small outer flaws none of the oranges showed anything unpleasant on their insides.

I definitely will be getting these oranges again. With Sunkist Organic Valencia Oranges at such a good price I can’t really pass them up when it comes time to get oranges. I see no reason to choose oranges that may be a little more pretty on the outside that taste the same on the inside but cost more. With their weight organic oranges can get expensive quick and seeing how I like to get five to seven a week I really need to choose ones that I can save money on. I would recommend for anyone to try some of these organic oranges. They are grown in either Arizona or California which is another bonus for me as I like to choose to get organic oranges that are grown closer to where I live, in Washington state. I am very glad that I tried these oranges very much.
