Sneak Peak TV Show Review: First Apocalypse

History Channel and History Channel International presented an amazing documentary on clues of what could have happened to the dinosaurs and what those clues could mean to humanity. The documentary gave many possible answers on what could have happened to the dinosaurs. What happened to the dinosaurs could very well happen to humanity, we just have to view the clues that history have given us.

What really killed the dinosaurs? Many believe that the dinosaurs died all at one due to one huge extinction event. Others believe it could have been several other reasons. Some believe the mass extinction theory, some believe that sickness killed them, some believe that the dinosaurs died from either a comet or meteorite hitting the earth, others believe that drought and then an ice age killed them. There are some theories that think that the volcano that is under Yellowstone National Park was the culprit. Some believe that the Ort cloud that is on the edge of the Milky Way galaxy may have had something to do with it. There are many theories as to what killed the dinosaurs and what happened to them could be a clue to what could in the future be mankind’s ultimate destiny.

We, of course, do not know what our destiny is, but we do know with the problems that are occurring around the world, something is happening. We see droughts, nasty storms, plagues, natural disasters occurring more rapidly, and global warming. We do not know if what is happening today happened millions of years ago to the dinosaurs, but something happened to cause them to be killed.

The first theory about the death of the dinosaurs is that they all died when a meteor hit the earth and since it was so huge, bounced into the atmosphere and exploded, causing what was left to rain down onto prehistoric earth. It caused fires to start burning and to start spreading everywhere. The shock wave of what happened would have caught the dinosaurs unawares and killed them. The smoke from the fires would spread out, covering the earth, and keeping the sunlight from streaming down. This would cause the plant life to start to die, which in turn would kill the plant eating dinosaurs, and so far on down the chin.

The next theory is that sickness and disease killed them. Some think that the ancestor to the modern day fly, called the sand fly, which was one nasty bugger, would attach itself to the dinosaurs and inject eggs into them and suck their blood. By injecting eggs into them, the eggs would turn into worms and slowly kill them from the inside. The cycle would continue and until all were dead. Not many believe this theory, since it doesn’t explain the mass extinction.

The next theory was maybe a comet hit the earth, causing dust to rise into the air and a shock wave to spread across the planet. Same theory as the meteor hitting the earth and the same results of what happened to the animals.

The next theory is that maybe global warming happened and then an ice age, instantly either killing them slowly or instantly. With global warming, rivers and oceans rose and took over the land and then the ice age hit and slowly killed whatever was left.

The next theory is that maybe the dormant volcano that is under Yellowstone National Park erupted and spread ash and gases over the area, killing whatever was around and spreading across the earth, killing everything in its path. It is said that we are due for another eruption from Yellowstone or we are long overdue for one.

There are many, many theories of what happened to the dinosaurs and what could happen to mankind. If we can ever find out what really happened to cause mass extinction to the dinosaurs, we could figure out how to save mankind before we go the way of the dinosaurs. Also by studying the plant life and the rocks of the different areas of the world, we could possibly have many clues at to what happened. One day soon, I am sure we will find out what truly happen and we can figure out to save mankind’s future.
