Smoothie Combinations for Raw Foodists

Smoothies are an excellent choice for raw foodists. They contain a blend of natural raw foods that are delicious and healthy. But you do not need to be a raw foodist, to enjoy the delightful and refreshing combinations of raw foods that blend together to make a nourishing smoothie. The following are some of my favorite raw food smoothies. I really do not measure most of the ingredients. Each recipe results in approximately one smoothie.

Banana Cucumber Mint Smoothie
This smoothie has a fresh delicious taste.
Place the following ingredients into a smoothie maker or a blender.
1 banana
1 peach
1 peeled cucumber
2 teaspoons of fresh mint
Blend everything together for a delicious creamy smoothie.

Berry Papaya Smoothie
If you love fresh berries and papaya, this smoothie is sure to be a favorite. It is full of antioxidants, and minerals. Just blend all of the ingredients together.
Place the following ingredients into a smoothie maker or a blender.
Approximately ½ cup of your favorite berries – frozen
The meat form a medium papaya – peeled and sliced
2 teaspoons raw organic honey
½.

Mixed Fruit Smoothie
Try adding your favorite fruit to this wonderful smoothie.
Place the following ingredients, except for the ice cubes, into a smoothie maker or a blender.
1 cup stemmed strawberries
1 medium banana – frozen (cut or break the banana into pieces before freezing]
½ cup frozen or fresh peaches or plums
2 teaspoons raw organic honey
1 cup of almond milk or organic apple juice
Blend everything until smooth then add a few ice cubes and blend again.

Cucumber Cantaloupe Spinach Smoothie
A great smoothie for an afternoon pick me up.
1/4 – 1/3 cantaloupe peeled, seeded and cut into chunks
1 peeled and sliced cucumber
1 handful of spinach – replace the spinach with your favorite greens
½ – 3/4 cup water
4-5 ice cubes
Blend the water, ice cubes, cantaloupe and cucumber together, add the spinach and blend again.

Banana Almond Smoothie
If you love the taste of almonds try this simple delicious smoothie.
Blend together
1 banana
1 cup of almond milk
Sprinkle on fresh cinnamon and nutmeg
Add raw organic honey or stevia if you prefer a sweeter taste.

Watermelon Almond Smoothie
Place the following ingredients into a smoothie maker or a blender. This great smoothie is super simple and extra delicious.
1 ½ cup of watermelon – Cut into chunks and frozen
1 cup almond milk

Tomato Broccoli Smoothie
A favorite vegetable smoothie that can be spiced up if you like a kick to your food.
1 cup broccoli
1 large tomato
1 carrot cut into pieces
1 cup spinach or an green leafy vegetable
2 clove peeled garlic
Juice of ½ lemon
Blend all the ingredients together. If it is too thick add a little water until you have the desired consistency. Add hot peppers, jalapeno peppers or onions to spice it up if you like it hot.

Banana Cacao Almond Smoothie
This delicious chocolate taste is one of my favorite smoothie recipes.
1 banana
1 ½ tablespoon raw cacao
1 cup of almond milk
2 teaspoons raw organic honey, stevia or agave

Berry Mango Kiwi Smoothie
Place the following ingredients into a smoothie maker or a blender.
½ cup stemmed strawberries
½ kiwi peeled and cut into pieces
½ medium mango peeled and cut into chunks
½ cup almond or soy milk
Several pieces of cut up celery are a nice addition to this mix.

Raspberry Pear Spinach Smoothie
Place the following ingredients into a smoothie maker or a blender.
1 cup raspberries
1 pear – peeled and cored
1 handful of spinach
½ cup water

Tips
If you want your smoothie sweeter add stevia, organic honey or raw agave.
Almond milk is a good source of protein.
Add carrots, spinach or any raw vegetable into your favorite fruit smoothie recipe.
Many raw foodists call veggie smoothies liquid salads.

Whether you are a raw foodist or not, smoothies are a nourishing and enjoyable addition to any diet. Don’t be afraid to mix your favorite raw foods into a smoothie. Try foods that you have never tried before. Be creative and experiment by making smoothies with different raw food combinations.
