Smoking the Best Weed in Amsterdam

Red Light District, Ssh

After eight plus hours we arrive in Amsterdam. Nothing exciting at all going through customs, we make our way out the airport and to our awaiting bus.

I heard that last year they had samples of pot in the gift bags, but when we dipped into our’s there was no such marijuana. After a short while we make it to our hotel, The Eden Hotel, which is pretty much a Holiday Inn. We all arrived before checkout so the hotel guy locked our bags up for us in a room.

I was told it would be cold in Amsterdam, to wear two pairs of pants, blah, blah. Now while it was colder than where I live it wasn’t a big deal. During the whole trip the weather was not a big downer. I got by fine with a pair of pants, a hooded sweatshirt and a beanie cap.

Our first mission was to find a coffee shop. First I went to exchange my dollars into guilders. It wasn’t a problem at all to find a booth to exchange my money. The lady inside the booth was rolling a joint when I walked up.

Eventually we found our first coffee shop, the Dampkring. I purchased some Jack Herer and we sat at this long table and smoked some weed with some American’s. I rolled my joint and kept it behind my ear and actually forgot to smoke it. Or was I just being a weed horder?

On this trip I walked the most I have ever walked in my life. Our first long walk was to the Pax Party House to pick up our Cannabis Cup judge’s passes. I didn’t see the big deal with the pass, it cost $250, and gave you access to some events that you couldn’t get into regularly, but all my pass really did for me was get me a discount on some Super Silver Haze from The Greenhouse. And that was good saying SSH was the overall winner of the event.

Pax Party House wasn’t that big of a deal, and I don’t recall any party.

Again we walk. I figured our best bet was to find the red light district. The map given to us was a waste as it didn’t have updated directions or it was just missing key streets or straats. I guess a pot head created that map. I realized that we had been walking in one big circle for what seemed like an hour, I took a look to my left across the way and noticed a coffee shop. Found the red light district as well when a black hooker tried to talk a friend into some sex for money, calling him Biggy.

We went to the Bulldog, Rokerji, and some other shops around that area. My goal was to just get as much weed that could fit in my pockets, and then go back to the hotel and smoke it. I accomplished this goal everyday that we were there.

I’m in a foreign country, smoking the best weed in the world.

But this is just the beginning.
