Superbowl Sunday will soon be upon us. If you are looking for simple Superbowl snacks, and chicken wings are your choice, well I have some suggestions for you. These simple Superbowl snacks of chicken wings, will have your friends begging for more, so make sure you have made enough chicken wings, to last through the entire Superbowl game! These Superbowl snacks of chicken wings, are simple and easy to prepare and they won’t break your budget either. They are even prepare ahead friendly, so that you won’t be stuck in the kitchen the entire Superbowl Sunday, preparing snacks of chicken wings for your guests!

Simple Superbowl Snack #1

Super Easy Superbowl Hot Wings

Ingredients:

5 pounds chicken wings

1/4 cup ground red pepper

1/4 cup cajun seasoning (any brand)

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 1/2 cups flour

48 oz. cooking oil

Remove the tip from the chicken wing and discard. Cut the chicken wing at the joint by the drumette to produce two pieces. Place all chicken wing pieces into a large bowl. Add the spices and stir to make sure all chicken wings are evenly coated. Cover and place the chicken wings into the refrigerator and let marinate for at least two hours. For best results and maximum heat, leave overnight.

Place cooking oil in deep fryer and heat to 375 degrees.

Pour flour into a large bowl or place the flour into a one gallon plastic bag. Take the chicken wings from the refrigerator, do not rinse. Dredge each chicken wing in the flour, making sure each chicken wing is evenly coated. Once the oil has heated to 375 degrees gently place each chicken wing into the hot oil and fry for approximately 15 minutes, or until the chicken wings are floating and the juices run clear. Drain on paper towels. Serve while still piping hot. Have a variety of dipping sauce on the side, such as hot sauce, ranch dressing and BBQ sauce.

Simple Superbowl Snack #2

Superbowl Honey Mustard Wings

Ingredients:

5 pounds chicken wings

1 cup honey

1/4 cup prepared mustard

2 tablespoons garlic powder

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium size mixing bowl mix the honey, mustard, garlic powder and finely chopped onions. Let the mixture set for 30 minutes to let the flavors blend.

Remove the tip from the chicken wing and discard. Cut the chicken wing at the joint by the drumette to produce two pieces. Place all chicken wing pieces onto a cookie sheet. Generously coat each chicken wing with the honey mustard mixture.

Place the chicken wings into the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Take the chicken wings from the oven and turn each piece over. Generously coat each chicken wing again, with the honey mustard mixture. Return the chicken wings back to the oven and cook for another 15 minutes, or until the juices run clear. Remove from the oven and serve while still hot. Extra honey mustard mixture may be served on the side for dipping.

Lemon Pepper wings

5 pounds chicken wings

juice and zest of 2 lemons

2 tablespoons ground black pepper

1 teaspoon sea salt

In a large mixing bowl mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper and sea salt. Remove the tip from the chicken wing and discard. Cut the chicken wing at the joint by the drumette to produce two pieces. Place the chicken wing pieces into the bowl of lemon mixture and stir to make sure all chicken is evenly coated. Cover and place the chicken wings in the refrigerator and let marinate for at least one hour.

Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees.

Take the chicken wings from the refrigerator and without rinsing, place each chicken piece onto a cookie sheet. Place the chicken wings into the oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the juices run clear. Serve while still hot.

These simple Superbowl snacks are easy to prepare and may be made ahead of time and frozen, until ready to serve at your Superbowl party. Simply pre heat your oven to 350 degrees and then place your cooked chicken wings on a cookie sheet and heat until hot. Then serve. Hence the name, simple Superbowl snacks!
