Unique Boutique and Bridal not only sells prom dresses, they also have a wide selection of mix and match formal pieces. Micci’s Formal Wear is a smaller shop than its competitors, but the small size means lots of personal attention. Selection is somewhat limited, but prices are a little lower. Micci’s Formal Wear is a great pick for Memphis high end prom dresses for a little less money. The store caters to smaller sizes, with a near non-existent plus size section.
If your budget is extremely tight, steering away from the Memphis boutique stores will help you buy a prom dress within your means. Major department stores carry a small selection of formal and cocktail length prom dresses, many with prices under $150.
Dillard’s -Multiple Locations
With four locations in the Memphis area, Dillard’s can be a great place to find a prom dress without hitting the small boutique shops. There is a wide variety of designers and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. Prices start at $60 for a black and white Night Way Velvet Gown. Clerks are friendly and knowledgeable and if you find a dress you like, but your size is out of stock, the stores will ship the dress in the correct size from the store to your door. Prices for floor length prom dresses are somewhat higher than Dillard’s with prices starting at $99.00. Petite sizes are available, but plus size selections are limited.
