Review of the Graco Mosaic Travel System

Graco, Infant Seat, Pt Cruiser, Travel System, Umbrella Stroller

When deciding whether to get a stroller and car seat, or a full travel system for our baby on the way, we did plenty of research on brands, quality, ease of use, and manageability. We eventually decided to purchase the Graco Mosaic Travel System. We liked the reputation of Graco, along with many other factors, and we’re quite happy with our decision.

The Graco Mosaic Travel System has a few unique features that set it apart from most travel systems. The feature we liked the most was the size of the system. Unlike so many travel systems, which can honestly be the size of some European cars, the Graco Mosaic Travel System is much smaller and compact. When the infant seat is placed on the stroller it isn’t nearly as long as most other brands, and when the stroller is used without the infant seat, it’s not a whole lot bigger than a simple umbrella stroller. This feature makes maneuvering the stroller through crowded and tight spaces incredibly simpler than it would be with a larger, more cumbersome travel system. The stroller is very light (only around 20 lbs) and easy to fold up. It is also particularly easy to push and steer. I can easily change the stroller’s directions accurately using only one hand. The infant seat is quite heavy when a child is placed in it, however this is necessary to make the seat as safe as possible.

During the time that we purchased our Graco Mosaic Travel System there were many car seats being recalled. This worried us, of course, but fortunately this system used the Graco SnugRide infant seat. No SnugRide seats with EPS (energy absorbing foam) were included in the recall so we felt even better about our decision in regards to safety.

The Graco Mosaic Travel System is also a very attractive system. The contoured handles, rather than a single bar handle, mimic some much more expensive brands. They are comfortable to use as well. The colors work for both boys and girls, which was important to us since we had decided not to find out our baby’s sex before our son was born. We have enjoyed using the cargo net on the bottom of the stroller to store the diaper bag, and the parent cup holder is a nice feature as well.

The stroller portion of the Graco Mosaic Travel System is easy to fold and latch. The infant seat portion was not so easy to install using the LATCH system in our PT Cruiser, however I don’t think any car seat is easy to install. When rear facing, the seat does force either the driver or passenger front seat to be pushed fairly far forward, but I believe that would be the case again with any seat.

Overall I could not be happier with my Graco Mosaic Travel System. At just $249.99, much less than many travel systems, the Graco Mosaic Travel System is an attractive, easy to use, safe system for our baby.
