Review of Planters Nutrition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter

When I came across a jar of Planters Nutrition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter at my local Dollar Tree store, I was intrigued. The low price of this quality brand item made me both curious and adventurous. I decided to buy it, try it and write a product review all about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

I got one small jar of Planters Nutrition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter for only one dollar. This is a 12 ounce jar with 10 servings in, so that was a decent deal. Looking back now, I am certainly glad that I did not pay more than one dollar. This product is advertised by Planters as being maybe the most daring peanut butter ever. I agree with that. One of the strangest fruits in a peanut butter yet. Cranberries. Yes, you read that right. With cranberries and peanuts in this peanut butter, I just had to know how it tasted. I found out.

I will start by saying that the taste of this peanut butter is good. And it is crunchy, with lots of peanut bits in it. Then, there are the cranberries. Unfortunately, the pieces of cranberries in this peanut butter are quite large. And, they are dry. As if peanut butter is not dry enough. Whew. They are also chewy and nothing is worse than a dry, chewy cranberry in your peanut butter. Your mouth will get some exercise with this one. One a good note, this product does give high energy, with 5 vitamins and minerals and lots of protein. On a bad note, don’t even try to put this stuff on a sandwich. You will be very sorry. Or a cracker, either, for that matter. For those who like to eat peanut butter by the spoon, you may be able to tolerate this duo of peanuts and cranberries. Have lots of some beverage handy, though. I rate Planters Nutrition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter two stars out of five stars. One star is for even daring to make this product and the other star is for the nice flavor of the peanut butter. Until you try to chew a cranberry piece, you might enjoy it.

One serving of Planters Nutrition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter has 180 calories in it. 110 of those calories are from fat. One serving has 13 grams of total fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 4 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 6 grams of monounsaturated fat, 0 mg’s of cholesterol, 130 mg’s of sodium, 12 grams of total carbs, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 6 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein. The cane juice in this product gives the peanut butter good flavor. If you take the time to pick out the dry cranberry pieces, you might be able to tolerate this peanut butter. But there are so many cranberries, it is hardly worth it. I don’t often not like a product, but this one is not a winner. Planters also has Nutrition Energy Mix Peanut Butter in both cinnamon with granola and banana with granola. I hear that both of those are pretty good, though I have not tried either of them yet. They have to be better than this product.
