I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter Review

Butter Substitute, Nut Butter

I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter is a delicious, creamy alternative to peanut butter for those who are allergic to peanuts as well as those who just want to try something different.

For parents who have children with food allergies that like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in their lunch boxes, it’s a great option.

I was so happy I decided to do a review of the I.M. Soy Nut Butter – the unsweetened, creamy flavor which boasts “Net 1 Carb” on the green, red and yellow packaging. I purchased the I.M. Soy Nut Butter at Whole Foods Market.

Here are a few things I learned about I.M. Soy Nut Butter – one of the best alternatives to peanut butter right up there with Almond Butter!

No.1. Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: A 2 T. serving size has 190 calories, and 15 grams of fat. It’s truly ideal for people on a moderate fat diet, which researchers are now saying is better for long term weight loss and maintenance. From what I read on the peanut butter labels, this is slightly less fat.

No. 2: Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: One serving has 5 grams of fiber. This is more than the average peanut butter.

No. 3: Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: It has only 1 grams of sugar and yet 9 grams of protein per serving.

No. 4: Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: It contains 8 percent of the Iron and 6 percent of the calcium recommended.

No. 5 Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: It’s made with no genetically modified roasted soybeans with no trans fat.

No. 6: Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: It’s both dairy-free and gluten-free making it an ideal spread for people on special diets.

No. 7: Fact about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter as a peanut butter substitute: Ingredients include roasted soybeans, soybean oil, and salt.

I liked the cute saying on the package, “Jelly has a great new partner.” It’s cute but also true. Too many people rely on standard peanut butter when there are so many peanut butter alternatives even if you don’t have food allergies like me. When I am in the mood for peanut butter, I like to get the kind with pure peanuts and salt, but I digress.

Another amazing fact about the about I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter is that unlike some peanut and almond butters, it needs no refrigeration after opening making it perfect for long road trips. A little oil separation may occur so I recommend keeping a spoon handy in case you need to stir.

As far as taste, it’s extremely creamy but does not taste exactly like peanut butter. I prefer to enjoy it in a smoothie with chocolate, bananas and other ingredients. It does make an excellent “PB and J” sandwich because the globs of grape jelly mask the flavor of the soy butter – which, as I said, is not a clone of peanut butter in terms of taste.

Try the I.M. Healthy Soy Nut Butter with celery sticks and crackers. It’s awesome for people who are allergic to nuts – and people who are just plain nuts about soy (like me)!
