Review of Organic Packham’s Pears

Pears

While in the produce section I was scanning the organic apples and organic oranges and I noticed the organic pears. I didn’t get pears very often but they looked really good and so I decided to get a couple. The sticker on the pears stated that they were Organic Packham’s Pears. These pears were not particularly cheap. I was choosing organic apples that were one dollar and forty nine cents a pound and these organic pears were one dollar and ninety nine pound per pound. The pears were a little over half a pound in weight so I only got two. I figured for a couple bucks they might be a nice treat, here is what I thought about them.

Normally after getting home from shopping one of the first things that I do is try out some of the new foods that I got on the shopping trip. On this particular day though I had lots and lots I needed to do after shopping and so after putting everything away I put trying these pears out on the back burner. A couple days passed and I decided to let my son have one. I had the intention of trying some of pear as well but I ended up not cutting the pear up and after washing it gave it to my son whole, he was very eager to try it. Just from seeing him eat the pear I could tell that he liked it and that the pear was very juicy.

Time got away from me and I completely forgot to try the other Organic Packham’s Pear. Pretty soon I realized that I had bought the pear a week ago and now was dreading the fact that I may have wasted a dollar on a piece of fruit that I didn’t get a chance to eat. This only made me put off trying the pear even more. After a couple more days I decided I would face the condition of the pear. To my surprise the pear was not mushy at all, in fact it still felt very firm. I cut the pear in to a few pieces and was amazed how great it looked on the inside. I would have never thought that it was more than ten days old. Again there was a lot of pear juice in the organic pear. Now all that was left was to taste the fruit.

The Organic Packham’s Pear that I had was wonderful. It was definitely delicious and didn’t have any sort of oldness to it. I would keep this in mind if the pears ever went on sale, I could easily stock up on them and they would last a really long time. The two pears that I bought came to two dollars and twenty five cents and I didn’t think that it was great price but I am glad that I spent it and got the pears because there were a nice treat. I shared some of the second pear with my son and he again showed that he enjoyed the taste of the pear, he is only two years old but it makes it very clear on how he feels about foods.

I would happily recommend for anyone to give the Organic Packham’s Pears a try. I kept mine in the fridge the whole time, I am not sure how long they would last just sitting in a fruit bowl. I would recommend choosing ones that were not soft at the store, that is what I did, because the ones that I chose lasted so long and wonder if this was because there were not too soft. All in all these organic pears are great.
