In our household, convenience is king! My husband and I are on such tight schedules that every second counts. That’s why I was pleased to find the Keurig B100 1-Cup Coffee Maker. I’m still addicted to my cup of morning coffee sweetened with a touch of flavored coffee syrup. Previously, this had meant a morning trip to Starbucks drive through. As you know, those trips to Starbucks can really take a toll on the budget! I knew I had to find a better way. After speaking with a friend who recommended the Keurig B100, I headed down to my local gourmet kitchen shop to find this modern miracle. When I arrived, the kitchen shop owner enthusiastically recommended the B100 1-Cup Coffee Maker due to its convenience. Fifteen minutes later, I was out the door with my new acquisition.
I have to admit when I get a new kitchen appliance or gadget, I’m like a child. I have to try it right away! When I arrived home, I immediately took it out of its box and read the instructions. The construction of the coffee maker is quite stylish and contemporary. I was pleased to see it wouldn’t be an eyesore if left on the kitchen counter. Within five minutes, I had my coffee maker set up and ready to go. I quickly filled the coffee maker with water and allowed it to heat up. Then I simply opened the drawer and inserted a K cup, pressed the brew button and waited for my fresh coffee to be prepared. Forty seconds later, my cup of coffee was ready for tasting.
What is a K cup you might ask? It’s a cartridge containing coffee of your choice combined with a build in filter enclosed within a vacuum. The coffee maker works by forcing pressurized hot water through the K cup.There’s no mess since the coffee is enclosed within the cartridge. It saves you a great deal of time and mess since there’s no need to measure out the correct amount of coffee each time. This is great for slobs like me who have never been able to avoid spilling coffee. Plus, I like the fact the machine makes only a single cup at a time. I like to limit my coffee consumption and this helps to keep my habit in check. Of course, you also have the option of buying decaf coffee cartridges if you so desire.
If I have one complaint about the Keurg B100 1 Cup Coffee Maker, it would be the price. Purchasing this model at a local kitchen shop, I paid around $250.00 I’m quite sure if I have shopped around or purchased it online I could have gotten it at a much cheaper price. But, there’s something to be said for convenience and immediate gratification. The other expensive aspect of this coffee maker is the price of the K cups which can run up to fifty cents each. Again, bargains can be found on these if you shop around. I like the large variety of flavors and brands available in the K cup. You’ll find almost 100 different varieties from companies such as Green Mountain, Gloria Jean, and Celestial Seasonings. Plus, you have even more options for giving your coffee flavor when you add flavored coffee syrups.
I love the convenience and the stylish look of this coffee maker because these features are important to me, I can overlook the price of the coffee maker and K cups. Compared to what I was paying at Starbucks, this is a real bargain! I would recommend the Keurig B100 1-Cup Coffee Maker to anyone who wants a quick, convenient, and high quality cup of coffee and doesn’t mind paying just a bit more.
