Come, all ye rouges and maidens, to a medieval celebration! Renaissance fairs provide great fun and adventure in times long past! And there are several to attend in Canada.

Gregors Crossing Medieval Faire – Located in Chatham, Ontario. This fair will be held June 1st – 3rd from 3:00 pm – 12:00 pm on Friday, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Sunday. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $16 for adults, $8 for kids ages 6 – 13, and free for children ages 5 and under. Those who wish to dress in costume will need to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. A special feature of this festival includes a period fashion show hosted by the clothing merchants. Robin in the Hood Medieval Festival – Located in Elmira, Ontario. This fair will be held June 2nd from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $4 per person. Those wishing to dress up must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Pets are allowed provided they are leashed and people-friendly. Owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their pets. No alcohol will be sold or permitted. Visitors will watch thrilling battles between knights, beautiful music, surprising magic, and many more performances. Faery Fest – Located in Guelph, Ontario, at Riverside Park. This fair will be held June 23rd – 24th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for seniors ages 64 and older and kids ages 5 – 12, and free for children ages 4 and under. Tickets will be $16 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 60 and older and youth ages 14 – 17, $8.75 for kids ages 4 – 13, and free for children ages 3 and under. Those who wish to dress in period attire will not be allowed to carry firearms and must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Visitors need to note that there are currently no ATMs on site. The Royal Medieval Faire – Located in Waterloo, Ontario in Waterloo Park West. This festival will be held September 15th from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 10 and under. Those wishing to dress in costume will not be allowed to carry weapons. Guests can try their luck at various games for free for the chance to win tokens which can be exchanged for prizes at the Games Magistrate tent. Musicians, jugglers, storytellers, and falconers will delight visitors of all ages.
