Eugene Oregon, Oregon

If you are looking for a place to watch fireworks in Oregon, you really don’t have to look far, especially in Eugene. Many will go to Skinner Butte or Mt. Pisgah for a great view of various personal and public displays. For those who are looking for something a little closer to town, and front-row seats, these options may be favorable for you and your family this 4th of July.

28th Annual Art & the Vineyard Festival at Alton Baker Park
Art & the Vineyard’s 2011 Freedom Festival runs July 2- July 4, 11am-9:30pm. There will be a fireworks display July 4th beginning around dusk. One day of fun will cost you $7, or you can get the whole package with a 3 day pass for $15. Kids under 6 are free. This event takes place at Alton Baker Park, which is located right along the banks of the beautiful Willamette River in Eugene, Oregon. Parking is free at Slocum Center on July 4th, but get there early if you want a close spot. If you plan to enjoy all 3 days of fun, music, art, and wine, be aware that parking on site will cost $3 per car.

Eugene Pro Rodeo and Fireworks Display at Oregon Horse Center
This event will give you four chances to see fireworks, as they will be hosting a display each evening (July 1-July 4). The Eugene Pro Rodeo Website indicates that the fireworks will be extra special on the 4th, so if you don’t mind spending $16 for the show ($10 for kids) they have a fun night planned. Each day will provide motorcycle jumps, PRCA rodeo, fireworks, and dancing. Advance tickets are available for a cheaper price through their website. Parking is $3 per vehicle. Grounds are handicapped accessible.

Skinner Butte and Mount Pisgah
Both are located within Eugene and provide a remarkable view of the city. Skinner Butte is accessible by car, making a nice cozy spot to view the displays if you can beat the crowds. Mt. Pisgah involves a bit of a hike to the top, but makes for a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding areas. Start your hike up Pisgah a couple hours before dusk and bring a good flashlight for the way down.

Creswell’s Annual 4th of July Celebration
Creswell is a small town just outside Eugene, Oregon. Their annual fireworks display is worthy of mention here, even if it isn’t technically Eugene. Many spectators drive from other towns to enjoy the parade and small town atmosphere of the 4th of July celebration in Creswell. In addition to a parade and fireworks display, there will be food, entertainment in the park, and craft booths. The whole family will appreciate the free fireworks display at Creswell High School.
