Randy Jackson on Twitter Disses Oprah

Pedophilia

Randy Jackson got on his Twitter and ranted against Oprah. The youngest Jackson brother is upset that Oprah is interviewing his mother, Katherine Jackson, because of the show Oprah aired on pedophilia during Michael Jackson’s trial. “In fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children,” tweeted Randy.

Why is Oprah interviewing Michael Jackson’s mom?

The King of Pop died in June of 2009, and it was all over the news for quite a while. Now it’s October of 2010, and that news is passed. What is in the news is the fact that Michael Jackson’s mom is suing AEG Live for negligence over the death of Michael Jackson. Katherine Jackson says AEG Live, a concert promoter, was negligent in hiring Dr. Conrad Murray, and she says the concert promoter put concerns for profits over the health and safety of her son. This is likely the core issue that Oprah Winfrey will get at. If part of Oprah’s job is to bring news and information to the public, why shouldn’t she interview Katherine Jackson?

Randy Jackson on Twitter disses Oprah. But how much weight do his rants hold?

If Michael Jackson is guilty of child sexual abuse, he took that to his grave. Randy tweeted, “I can never forget when she had the show on pedophilia during the jury deliberation process in my brother’s Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence.” Randy also tweeted, “I know there are a lot of you out there upset and angry over this. I don’t blame you.”

But what’s a lot? Some assume Michael Jackson is innocent of child sexual abuse, but if Randy Jackson assumes there aren’t a lot of people who disagree with him, he is sorely mistaken. Many people will tune in to the Oprah Winfrey interview with Katherine Jackson, whether Randy likes it or not.

After all, why would Katherine Jackson agree to the interview? She knows how powerful the Oprah show is and what a great opportunity it is for her to offer her view of the situation. If you watch enough Oprah, you know that Oprah voices her opinions, but she also allows her guests to share their views.

Randy Jackson is a brother grieving for a lost brother, and everyone understands that. But he’s not a huge celebrity. He’s not Randy Jackson from American Idol. His views only carry so much weight.

Randy tweeted, “I had no prior knowledge this was going to happen. It was deliberately kept from me because they knew I would have tried to stop it.” For Katherine Jackson to sue AEG Live may not make sense to some, but her agreeing to an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the most powerful talk show host on television and one of the richest women in the world, makes perfect sense.
