Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick is a must-have for every household. This product is useful as an alternative to chemicals and the possible uses are endless.
According to the package, Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick claims to be able to clean hard-to-clean stains on toilets, tile, grout, grill grates, rusty tools, concrete, acid stains and much more. After experimenting with the product, I do not doubt that all these claims are true.
When I first spotted Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick at my local hardware store, I was looking for products to clean my tile grout. I had used a few chemicals and nothing was working well. I was pleased to find a non-chemical option although at first I was skeptical. However, when I used the product I was amazed. With a little effort, the grout looked much better without one ounce of chemicals!
Description of the product. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick is approximately five inches long and about an inch wide. The stick is hard and reminded me of concrete. As the product is used it begins to “disappear” until eventually it is gone.
Where to find the product. I purchased Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick at my local hardware store in the cleaning products section. The product was located near the grout cleaner in a box clearly labeled with the name of the product.
Cost of the product. I paid a little over $3.00 for this product. Amazon.com and other online stores often sell this product in bulk at a lower price-point per item.
Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick has proven to be effective for me with the following tasks.
Cleaning tile grout. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick was very effective in cleaning grout. This product cleaned stains that I was unable to clean using chemicals and a grout brush. The product was easy to use and I was able to work through my project quickly.
Cleaning tile. Our tile had a few stains that were not responding to normal mopping. Use of Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick removed the stains with little effort.
Cleaning toilets. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick easily cleans stains in the toilet without additional chemicals. I found it helpful to drain the toilet bowl to use the product directly on the toilet.
Paint spills. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick removed paint spills from concrete. I had previously used chemicals which only removed some of the paint. Stubborn paint spills required a lot of scrubbing but eventually came up using this product.
Rust stains. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick removed stubborn rust stains from a utility knife and a pair of scissors without chemicals. The rust stains disappeared after rubbing several times.
Grill grates. Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick also works on outdoor grill grates. However, I actually prefer using my long-handled grill cleaning brush with scraper for this particular task. As the scouring stick gets smaller, it is harder to hold especially if you are using it on a grill grate. I found that it was too easy to slip off of the grate I was working on.
Toaster Oven Rim. Our stainless-steel toaster oven has an inside rim that collects debris and chemicals and often becomes hard to clean. However, all of the stains and mineral deposits disappeared quickly using the Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick with very little effort.
My overall impression of the product is that it works! Not only does it clean more effectively that chemicals but it is less hazardous to the environment. You should not use Pumie’s Heavy-Duty Scouring Stick on highly polished metals, enamel, glass, plastic or any fragile surfaces and it is recommended that you test the surface before cleaning with the product. If you are planning to use the product for large jobs, be sure to buy several, which appears to be the more economical way to purchase the product anyway.
