Proof of Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy’s Not-So-Secret Romance

On “Dancing with the Stars” the only thing you can count on more than Bruno Tonioli’s raunchy comments is the obligatory romance rumor. From week to week, we’ve watched the romance heat up between Kelly Monaco and ballroom pro Val Chmerkovskiy. Are they or aren’t they? They’ve given us plenty of cause to believe that they’re more than dance partners. Here’s “proof” that Val and Kelly have become DWTS’ requisite Love Birds.

Others have noticed.

After their very first Cha-Cha, Carrie Ann Inaba commented on their “insane” chemistry. “I don’t know what’s going on with the two of you,” Brooke Burke says following another fiery performance. “But you’re making me fall in love with you.” The spark ignites.

They do some serious flirting.

During their first week together, these two were flirty, but friendly –which is what we’re used to on DWTS. But after a few rehearsals the steam began to rise. At one point, he makes reference to her ample bosom in contrast to her petite figure. On another occasion, Chmerkovskiy slides in a comment about the two of them “doing terrible, terrible things to each other.” And when he encourages her to infuse more passion into the routine, she teases, “you’ll get your passion.” Val gives her serious come-hither eyes and playfully taps her on the behind, before grabbing her, lustily. (Was that too much?)

Kelly admits her emotional attachment.

Rumor has it that Monaco ended a long-term relationship before joining the DWTS cast. “He’s teaching me how to trust again,” Kelly tearfully admits during Week 4. We suddenly realize that she might be talking about the kind of trust that extends well beyond the rehearsal crash mat.

Oh, the kisses…

Either Val Chmerkovskiy is the “kissiest” person in the world, or he really adores his partner. During practice for their trio, Louis Van Amstel scolds Val for sneaking a smooch during the routine. After receiving triple 9.5s from the judges, the two practically make out. This is just one of the dozens of sweet pecks exchanged between the pair.

She lets it slip — sort of…

The hunky pro visits Monaco on the set of “General Hospital” to offer his support. With a wicked grin he offers to do anything she wants; she replies with a sly look and advises him to “wait for her in her dressing room.” Take that any way you like.

They go on a “date.”

After surviving a trying double elimination, we get to see Val and Kelly out on what really, really looks like a date. Very rarely do audiences see the couples cuddled up and sipping cocktails. But during Week 7, Val reveals that he wants to stay in touch and do things with her after the season. She strokes his arm and is totally giving him that “I really dig you” body language. We have officially forgotten that we’re watching a dance competition.
