Celebrity Net Worth ‘Classic Star Trek’ – William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy & George Takei

George Takei

Celebrity stars shine brightly on the film screen, TV, iPad, Kindle Fire or Android tablet. As they perform in movies and TV shows, we can’t help but wonder how much money is in their bank accounts. We ask the question, ‘How big is my favorite star’s fortune?’ Big salaries differ for many an actor, but the big names pull in the big bucks. In the the classic TV show and original feature films, William Shatner’s Captain Kirk and Spock’s Leonard Nimoy traveled with Sulu’s George Takei in the starship Enterprise. After all those many trips among the stars, how much are these stars worth?

William Shatner
It’s true that, he’s the big shat, the original Captain James T. Kirk and the Priceline TV ad pitch man. He’s also a Canadian actor who’s made America his home and professional stomping ground as well. Shatner has done Broadway theater, guest parts in dozens of TV shows and made movies where he battled bugs in “Kingdom Of The Spiders”, and of course is best known as the first and most famous “Star Trek” Captain of the Enterprse, James T. Kirk. In his later years, he won an Emmy on the David E. Kelly show, “Boston Legal” opposite James Spader, and had a short lived sitcom called, ” $h*! My Dad Says”. All this work has set his fortune on stunning. His net worth is an estimated and enterprising $300 million dollars.

Leonard Nimoy
He was the logical, reserved alien and second in command of the mighty Starfleet starship Enterprise. Nimoy had paid his dues as an actor on stage, in film and on the small screen, before he hit it big by fleshing out the Vulcan called Spock. In later years, he took to directing and scored hits with, “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”, “Three Men and A Baby” and “Three Men and A Little Lady”. Nimoy is also an accomplished photographer and has published much of his photo work in books and displayed it in galleries. Nimoy may also show cool restraint when he’s wearing the pointy ears of Spock, but his fortune would probably make even that Vulcan green with envy. He’s worth an estimated and fascinating $45 million dollars.

George Takei
He was the helmsman of the classic Enterprise, or the starship’s daring pilot. As the Japanese character Sulu, Takei summoned up his own Asian culture to neatly flesh the popular “Star Trek” character into life. He’s been guest star on dozens of TV shows, and even worked opposite the legendary Duke himself – John Wayne – in the feature film, “The Green Berets” in 1968. In his golden years, Takei has reinvented himself – much like his Trek co-star Bill Shatner – by doing many product endorsements and commercials and even becoming Howard Stern’s announcer on Sirius XM’s “The Howard Stern Show. All of this work has made Takei well off. He’s worth an estimated $12 million dollars. Oh my indeed!

Gene Roddenberry
Both military man and Los Angeles police officer, Gene Roddenberry was a writer and producer who wore many hats in his life. Starting out small as a TV writer by submitting scripts to on the air television shows of the time like ‘Highway Patrol’, Roddenberry finally launched his own show called “The Lieutenant”. When he first went around Hollywood pitching his ‘wagon train to the stars’ concept called ‘Star Trek’, the networks weren’t impressed. Desilu, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s company, took a chance on the Roddenberry space saga and sold it to NBC. The rest is lucrative history and “Star Trek” never seems to slow down. His net worth is an estimated $1 billion dollars. That’s going boldly into profit for most anyone – human or alien.
