Product Review: We Did it Dancing Dora Doll – Ages 24 Months to 5 Years

My 30 month old daughter is a tremendous fan of Dora the Explorer so I went out and purchased her the We Did It Dancing Dora Doll, and I have no regrets..

We Did It Dancing Dora comes dressed in her signature pink t-shirt, orange shorts, yellow socks, white shoes, bracelet (cloth), and little purple backpack. Her body is made of hard plastic, with the exception of her hands which are made of a cloth material. Dora’s well sized head is full of soft brown hair that children will enjoy combing and styling.

When my daughter opened the package up she became overjoyed at the sight of the 12 inch Dancing Dora doll with the friendly bright smile and large bright eyes. The We Did It Dancing Dora doll is simple to activate with just one press of a button on her shoe. Dora goes through all the prompts. There is the “say it two ways” prompt in which Dora pronounces things in both English and Spanish, and she does this loudly and clearly, you may find your child mimicking Dora. Dora also asks questions to encourage your child’s interaction for example, she will say Rosado, Pink, Do you see something Rosado? Or I need your help to stop Swiper, “Swiper no swiper, swiper no swiping, swiper no swiping!” If your child does not normally watch Dora he/she may not understand the purpose of the Swiper no swiping prompt, but this is nothing that will take away from the pleasures of the doll. There is the counting in Spanish prompt, she will also ask the child to count the beads on her cloth bracelet. She also speaks five Spanish phrases. The best prompt of the doll is when Dora sings the We Did It Song (from television show) with music ,she doesn’t just sing the song, she moves her head from side to side and moves her arms up and down, and swivels (or twists) her waist from left to right, which will encourage children to dance beside her. With all the twisting and moving Dora may do a full circle and will definitely move from the original spot she was placed in. It is really fun to watch this doll talk and dance. Children and babies will love, love, love it when Dora sings and dances!

This doll will easily become a favorite for any child but the children who really watch and know Dora will appreciate it a great deal. It is not just a fun doll but it is educational and interactive doll. Your child will get to hear and learn Spanish words, and your child will also get the chance to interact with the doll when the doll asks questions. Gender wise, it is a very versatile toy because it’s not a really “feminine” toy, it’s a safe toy because it does not come with small pieces and no clothing can be removed, and the operation is very simple, babies who can press buttons can activate this doll. Your child will have fun with this doll. So if you have not picked one up, do so it’s worth the money.

The We Did It Dancing Dora Doll is the perfect doll, but even with perfection comes tiny flaws; unfortunately Map (a prominent character from the Dora television show) is not included with the backpack, my daughter kept asking, “Where’s map, where’s map?” The doll ‘s body is made up of hard plastic with the exception of the arms, making it difficult for your child to take to bed, but this can easily be solved by placing the doll nearby, like on a night stand or on the floor beside the bed. Lastly, your child may want to place stuff inside of Dora’s backpack or may want to remove Dora’s clothing to dress her up, but the backpack does not open up, nor can the clothing be removed, despite these minor “flaws” if you want to call them, the We Did It Dancing Dora doll is pretty much flawless.
