Product Review: Vicks Vapo Pads

Congestion, Nasal Congestion, Runny Nose, Vicks

My nose has been constantly runny because of allergies and other times it is so stuffed up. One of the ways I have been relieving my runny nose and nasal congestion is by using Vicks Vapo Pads. They help get my nose smelling again and breathing freely comfortably.

The Vicks Vapo Pads are small 1 inch flat squares infused with natural soothing vapor oils that help breakup nasal congestion by opening up the airways which also helps relieve the runny nose. The essential oils in these pads that help relieve the nasal congestion are eucalyptus, myristica, thymol, menthol, and nutmeg. These essential oils provide a cool tingling sensation in the nasal passage that help decongest the stuffiness and blow the nasty green junk out of our nose. The sensation also helps soothe and slow a runny nose down from dripping and dripping constantly.

The way I use the vapo pads is by boiling about 12 cups of water on top of the stove in my tea kettle. Then I unwrap a vapo pad and place it directly into a large bowl without touching the pad directly. If you touch the pad with your fingers hurry up and go wash them with soap and water because if you don’t you will forget you touch that pad and possible could end up touching your eye by accident. If that happens your eye is going to become irritated and burn so you will want to use an eyewash for 15 minutes or so to cleansing them out and possibly even see a doctor to make sure your eyes are okay. Anyways, once the water is boiled I pour it into the bowl over the top of the bad. After I gently place my face over the steam and breathe in the vapors to help soothe and relief my runny nose and nasal congestion. I usually do this for about 15 minutes or so to really help breakup congestion. I find the best time to use the vapor pads this way is in the morning right when I get up and before I head to bed. Just make sure when you do it you don’t get too close to the hot steam you burn yourself.

Another way I use the vapo pads is by placing two of them in my shower on the bathmat away from where my feet and skin would be in. Then I get into the shower and shower like I usually do, but allow the steam and warm water coming from the shower release the vapors from the pad so I can breathe easily again through my nose while I am showering and cleaning up for the day. This also works for chest congestion and coughing. I sometimes do this when I am having a small asthma attacks and need some quick natural relief, but this only works with slight asthma not server asthma attacks.

The Vicks Vapo Pads come in a box of six small pads. The pads are very expensive, but they work well for me so I believe they are worth it and especially when I am sick with a sinus infections and need some soothing relief. I would recommend them to a friend or family member to use to help breakup there nasal congestion and stop their runny nose because it helped me with these nasal problems. I do hope those of you who try these vapor pads find some soothing relief from you nasal congestion and runny nose like I have been. I wish you all the best at getting well soon.
