Product Review: Skin Candescence by Serious Skin Care

Serious Skin Care, Signature Club A

I have converted wholeheartedly to Serious Skin Care products. For years I used Signature Club A, the product line of world-renowned model and beauty expert Adrienne Arpel. However, while I loved some of her products, there were others that I really didn’t care for. I found them to be too thick and heavy for my aging skin.

Consequently, I purchased a Serious Skin Care kit as a part of my Christmas gift from my husband. I have been using the products in the kit for over a month now and find that I love them all so far.

One of my favorite new Serious Skin Care products is their Skin Candescence. It is an illuminating skin serum with oxy-brightening spheres that help to give my aging skin a much more youthful appearance.

As women age, our skin not only changes texture and dries out, it also begins to look a bit dull. It loses that fresh appearance that is so much a part of the skin of children. It is a look that is difficult to retrieve. However, Skin Candescence comes closer than any other product I have tried so far to reviving that youthful look.

I noticed a major change in the look of my skin with just one application. However, with continued use, I find that it simply continues to improve daily.

The best way to explain Skin Candescence is that its oxy-brightening spheres brighten and illuminate the skin to make it appear even, finely textured, and perfect but also luminous. It’s almost like having a soft-focus camera shining on the skin twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

I’ve never had what you would call beautiful skin. It has been adequate, to be sure. I never suffered from acne or major skin issues other than a bout with skin cancer. But no one ever complimented me on the texture or tone of my skin – – until now.

Now I get regular compliments on my skin. Some people insist that I’ve had some work done because they say I look five years younger. I personally don’t see it but I won’t hesitate to accept the compliment. When you are pushing 60, every little compliment helps.

Skin Candescence contains water, olive and fruit oils, glycol, jojoba, lanolin, and other by-products that are common to most beauty and skin care regimens. It claims to be moisture infused and I must admit that it feels wonderful on the skin.

For best results, I recommend using the product at least once a day, every day. In the beginning, I used it twice a day. Once I started getting compliments on the change, however, I switched to using it just once a day.

The product can be applied to freshly cleansed skin or on top of one of Serious Skin Care’s numerous skin serums. It smoothes on easily and absorbs quickly. You can finish by applying a SPF or makeup on top of it if you so desire. However, I wear mine alone on most days.

Skin Candescence can be purchased through the Home Shopping Network, online or through television. Alone, it is sold in a 1-oz pump for $44.50. However, I received my .50 oz pump as a part of a kit. In that form it retails for only about $12.

It takes very little of the product; less than a pea size portion so it should last quite awhile. I’ve been using mine for over a month and the pump still feels basically full. I suspect it should last somewhere around 90 days; perhaps longer.

While I admit that I couldn’t afford the $44.50 price tag myself, as long as I can obtain this product in kit form for under $15, I will continue to use it. I truly love it and easily give it four out of five stars.
