1 Medium size red onion thinly sliced
1 Large homegrown tomato
1 16 oz package Sara Lee Roast Beef
1 16 oz package Sara Lee Chicken (any variety)
1 16 oz package Sara Lee Turkey (any variety)
1 Large French Bread Roll (Freshly Baked right out of the oven if possible)
Shredded Lettuce
Salt and Pepper
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Krafts Brand Zesty Italian Dressing and Marinade
(For crunchiness and a tang, add Sliced Dill Pickles if desired)
Preparation
Split the French Roll down the middle. If bread must be limited in your diet, scoop out the center leaving enough to hold the mayo, mustard and dressing inside without causing sogginess. After scooping out the center, add mayo and mustard as desired the length of both sides of the French Roll. Be very liberal with each spread. Place the meats, one type at a time, covering one side of French roll down the entire side of the roll. Next place the amount of lettuce you desire atop the meats. Add the sliced tomatoes and onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Squeeze the desired amount of Zesty Italian Salad dressing on the tomato and lettuce. Close the sandwich and cut in four or five sections. Add cheese if desired. (Provolone, Swiss or Muenster or Parmesan compliment this sandwich)
This submarine sandwich is great the first day. The kraft Salad Dressing seems to marinade into the meats offering an even better taste each day. The second, third, fourth and fifth day makes for an even better sandwich as the flavors begin to blend more and more.
