Product Review: Glade Wisp Flameless Candle

Glade, Home Fragrances

Glade Wisp Flameless Candle is the newest addition to the Glade family of home fragrances. It is an enhancement to the product they already had, called the Glade Wisp. The flameless candle uses the same refills as the original Glade Wisp uses.

What is it?

The Flameless Candle is just that, the beauty of a flickering flame, and the scent of melting, scented wax. The starter kit comes in a frosted glass holder with one scented oil refill and 2 AA batteries, needed to make the air freshener release fragrance and light up.

How well does it work?

Simply press down on the top of the unit to make the “flicker” come on. It will stay on for 3 hours before shutting off. Whether or not the flicker is set to on or off, the fragrance still releases. You can adjust the strength of the fragrance with a dial located on the bottom of the unit. You can choose from 5 settings. I have mine sitting on a bookshelf in my living room, and the way that the light flickers, it really looks like a real candle in a candle holder. My house smells great when I walk in the door too.

How long does it last?

As described on the product packaging, the batteries will keep the candle lit and the fragrance flowing for 30 days as long as you only leave the flicker on for a maximum of 3 hours a day. If you keep the strength on low, the fragrance oil can last up to 45 days and on high it will last 21 days.

Where can you use this at?

The Glade Wisp Flameless Candle can be enjoyed any place where you normally use a candle, and even places where a conventional candle would be too dangerous to use. This would include, on a book shelf.

How much does it cost?

Theses are not the cheapest air fresheners on the market. The starter kit costs $9.99 and refills are $3.49. Many times in your local Sunday’s paper, coupons for $3.00 off starter kits and $1.00 off refills can be found. Also, the starter kit has a coupon for a refill inside of it (at least the one I purchased did).

Where can you find these?

These can be found anywhere where you’d normally find Glade products, such as Target, Wal-mart, Kmart, Walgreens, and CVS.

What scents are available?

The Glade Wisp Flameless Candle comes in 6 different scents: Clean Linen, Apple Cinnamon, French Vanilla, Rainshower, Hawaiian Breeze, and Orchid Oasis. The starter kits only come in Clean Linen and French Vanilla.

A few other great points about this product is the packaging it comes in is recyclable. It comes enclosed in a clear, hard plastic. The cardboard instructions are also recyclable. Each started kit also comes with a scratch and sniff sticker on it so you can preview the scent before you buy it.

Overall, I enjoy this product and will continue to buy refills for it when they are on sale. I don’t think it is worth ten bucks, but if you have a coupon and can find this product on sale, then I think it’d be a good buy. I like how there are 6 different scents to choose from as well.
