Glade Wisp Flameless Candle

Glade

The Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle. I saw this item on Television and wanted to get more information. Here is where I found the video and a buy-one-get-one-free coupon (if you can get the printing software to work).

I bought 2 for $10 (they were on sale at Walgreens for $5 each). I brought them home I couldn’t be happier with them.

There is a thin votive glass holder, inside is a mechanism with a pair of double A batteries installed. Separate in the package is a small bottle of scented oil, with a “keyed” top that only fits one way into the holder.

I am very happy with this product and I wanted to make some observations.

First in the instructions it says to install the scent first. I wouldn’t. First turn the candle mechanism over and pull the red battery saver tab out so the batteries are connected. Then slide the selector switch to the medium or lower setting depending on the size of the room. I have the setting down on it’s lowest setting because my TV room is very small.

You can run the Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle without the scent and it works fine. I have one running with the scent and one without.

In the evening I mix myself a drink, turn on the TV, turn off the lights and settle in my glider for an evening of television. After my first sip I lean forward and turn on both Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candles at the same time.

I start watching TV at 6pm and end between 9 and 10pm. Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candles have a three hour shut-off timer which is sort of disconcerting because after you set there watching them for a while it gets in your mind that they are real and then to have them just “go out” on their own… surreal.

Even if you don’t want them as air fresheners buy one and keep it around for:
– Power outages
– Romantic Dinners
– Kid’s night light*
– Holiday accents

Here’s a thought… If you are going to use Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle in a child’s bedroom.

When you open the package you will find the instruction card is “stuck” to the votive glass jar with some sticky “goo. Use some of this “goo” to stick the Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle to the a dresser or a bedside table.

The glass is very thin and having it stuck will lessen the chance that the Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle will be accidentally knocked over. Remember that the liquid is poison, and hard on furniture and clothing, also it is highly flammable. The glass is very thin and I imagine very sharp and breaks into long shards.

I wouldn’t recommend putting in the scented oil if this item is going to be used in a young child’s room. Unless that child is very stinky! 🙂

The Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle is very realistic. Even though I knew it was a battery operated light I still had to feel it to see if it was warm. Also in the instructions it actually says not to try to light the Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle with any kind of open flame. Some people are just dumb I guess.

Of all of the types of air fresheners I enjoy Glade© Wisp© Flame-less Candle the most.
Second to these are candles that use a jell as fuel. I bought a Halloween candle that smelled like Candy corn. The candle burned cleanly, completely and didn’t have an overpowering odor. I recommend jell over wax 100%. I would like to see them figure out a different type of wick so the inside of the jar won’t get black soot (which is easy to wipe away but still…).

My next favorite is the Glade© light show© http://www.glade.com/scented-oil-lightshow/ It’s really a nice air freshener and room accent. If I had to say anything bad about it I don’t like that it plugs in and doesn’t have an auto-shutoff also the “lights” get very hot.

As I recall it had 3 settings for different “shows” but that part burned out lucky for me the one I liked the best continues to work. There are 3 different light levels as well.

Well that’s my 2¢ on home air fresheners.
