Places to Visit in Nashville, Tennessee

Country Music Artists, Grand Ole Opry, Opryland

When choosing a vacation destination there are many factors to keep in mind. The first idea to keep in mind is the cost of the vacation that you are going to be taking. Will it cost to much to take this particular trip at this time of year? All of these are good suggestions to keep in mind when choosing a vacation destination.

Most generally it is more expensive to visit specific area’s during peak times of the year such as Summer and Fall. During this time of year the South becomes pretty busy with the families who take road trips during the Summer break. Because of this it would be cheaper and easier to visit such area’s during the winter months when the children can get a couple of days off from school or during the Spring time when it is not as busy as Summer is.

What most people do not know or fail to research is that with every vacation there are fun activities to do that do not require a large sum of money to do. Here in the Nashville area there are a number of activities that are fairly priced or that are free to visit. I’m going to inform you of the activities to do that do not cost anything or that are a small price to pay. All these activities are family oriented and can be done as a family or a couple or simply by yourself.

The Grand Ole Opry House museum offers a variety of items that were used by a number of country music artists who are not with us today but offered a number of their pieces to allow members of the community to see their items and come up close and personal with their belongings. These items are not just country music star’s items but also display some items from The King himself. The Man In Black donated a number of items as well as the Carter Family. For those of you who are familiar with country music these names will mean something and if you are not familiar with country music these names may still mean something.

Across from the Grand Ole Opry House is the Opry Mills Mall that is a outlet store and offers a number of top of the line venues that all offer a more reasonable price to the merchandise than what is usually found in any other mall that is not a factory outlet mall. I placed this as an area attraction because not only is this a mall but you will find a number of activities to participate in such as feeding of stingrays. These stingrays do not have their stingers so there is no reason to be afraid of them. You will pay a small fee to enter the venue and will have to pay for their food seperately but is a good activity to do with the children.

Tennessee State Museum is free year round and offers a unique look at the history of Nashville and the State of Tennessee. Inside the museum you will come across unusual artifacts that were discovered all over the state of Tennessee and all these items were placed here for everyone to enjoy.

Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort is free to enter year round. You can access them by a number of ways. If you are parked downtown you will run across a shuttle service that will transport you to Opryland and back for a small fee. Other area’s of access include the mall parking lot. The mall offers a number of locations to park and travel a short walk into the area that used to be known as the Opryland Amusement Park that was torn down to make way for the Opry Mills Mall. Located in the Opryland Resort you will come across a tropical paradise inside a doom like atrium that is covered in a number of species of flowers and trees. There are buildings inside the atrium that are home to a multitude of stores that all carry a number of items that could make good gifts for the members at home that were unable to make the trip.
